Hell this will be our first time heading to WDW my mother, my husband and my two and half year old!! :cool1:

What do you we need to know for check in? we are hoping they will let us in early to our room... is this possible??

What is the best building to stay in?

What time should we arrive in line to get to the parks in the morning??

We plan on going to mcdonalds in the mornings for breakfast, maybe dinner? how far from the resort is this facility??

thank you so much

All the buildings are great....the resort is somewhat compact in comparison to some of the others so no building is really far from anything and each has it's pros and cons.

McDonalds isn't far at all by car.

Don't count on getting into your room early!

You may, but you may not. I had to hold my 2 year old for her entire two hour nap last spring at POFQ while we waited for our room.

I would have thought that checking in with a child sleeping on my shoulder would have made it possible for us to get into a room, but it did not help at all.

The CM did whisper all through the check in process though which I give him points for!

Check out the grooviest new pop thread. It has tons of inof. And alot is all on the first page.
As for McDonalds, will you have a car? If not, you will need to taxi there, and that can be costly. I do beleive that the McDonalds there is more expensive than the average one too. I don't know exactly where it is, but I know it's not far becuase we passed it alot on the buses going to the parks.
Be sure to have what you need for the first day in your carry on. You might get in early, but if not, you can just change near the pool and swim if you want. Or they will store your stuff at the desk till the room is ready. They give you a card usually to call back and see when your room is ready.
Have fun! I am going in 10 days! Can't wait!

We have stayed at Pop for the last two years. We checked in around 7:00 a.m. both times, ate breakfast, and went to the parks. They gave us a card with a number on it to call back and check to see if our rooms were ready. Both times they were ready by lunchtime.

It is your basic resort - clean rooms, good pools, food court -the bus service was very good and the staff very pleasant - you'll enjoy it. Waiting in lines is common wherever you are so bring something to do for the kids or go change and go in the pools while someone else checks in. Enjoy It! They also have an arcade that the kids love! Im the morning we often saw hot air balloons go overgead. Also, some nughts we could see some of the fireworks when we walked towards the lake. Have fun!:cool2:

I wouldn't count on getting into your room early. Last time I was there, we couldn't even get into our room at check-in. We didn't get our room until like an hour after check-in.

McDonald's isn't far, but you need a car to get there. I don't know of any buses that go there and it is way too far to walk. Did you consider eating breakfast & dinner Everything Pop instead of McDonald's? They offer a larger selection.

If you drive yourself, I don't know how long it takes you to get to the parks. MK is the farthest, and I always leave 45 minutes before the park opens.

If you are to request a room location, I would suggest 50's or 70's. If you booked a preferred room, don't worry about it.

Don't forget to have your requests put in with your reservation too.

We had no problem checking in early when we stayed at the POP last year... and at the Poly this past month. Hopefully you will have the same luck. :upsidedow
