we got the refillable mugs last year at pop. Can we bring them this year and reuse at pop again??

Your only able to use the mugs on your current trip. With that said we did bring mugs this year that our friends had purchased this year on earlier trip to the world. I can tell you that the mugs this year are a light green in color, if yours are a light green, you will most likley be able to bring them and no one will say anything. Good luck.

we bought ours in dec 04, 2 are orange and one is blue----i was hoping to save money on drinks!!

OT:
Were staying at Pop in a few days, and I dont like those mugs!! :sad1: No characters on them

Nope...no Characters... Just the "Pop" logo. My guess would be that all the resort mugs have the resort logo's more so than characters.....Best bet for a Character mugs would be at the World itself....but that's just a guess.

We've taken ours & reused them again...no problem. I've even seen many other people at POP using mugs from other resorts, Typhoon Lagoon, etc. but even though I am a Newbie I can tell you that people on this DIS frown upon reusing mugs.

So I'll probably never admit to it again.

yes, our mugs did look like the ones in the pic from trixiezzz. So is ok then? we got them in dec 04

Hi! We got mugs in March of this year like the above-pictured ones and when we went in August they were just slightly different...darker, with the resort logo and a tie-dye pattern. DH and I wondered if they are changing them every few months to try to prevent re-use? We just bought bottles of diet coke and water ourselves, since we were there such a short time, but I wonder for frequent visitors who wants 10+ refillable mugs in your kitchen cabinets at home??? It does say on each mug that it's only good for the visit you purchase it on, that being said, I didn't see any CMs posted at the beverage station checking people's mugs. :rolleyes1

Either way -- have fun your trip! :wave2:

Depends on your values - says right on the mug to be used only for trip purchased, but people have different values.

Yes, I am against theft.

Legally and morally, how is it any different than stealing solid food from the food court? It's not different at all, it's just easier to get away with. If you knew no one was looking and there were no hidden cameras, would you steal food from the food court? If you wouldn't steal food, then you shouldn't steal soft drinks. If you would steal food, stop reading now because I'm certainly not going to change your mind.

I think there's a difference between morals/ethics and LAWS. If you choose to cheat on your spouse, for example, you are neither right nor wrong because there are no laws against that (I'm NOT talking about religious laws, so please put away the 10 Commandments :rotfl: ). It's a matter of what your personal morals and ethics are.

But if you buy a mug that states right on it you can use it only during the course of the stay when you bought it, then you are breaking the law and committing THEFT by using that mug during a subsequent visit. It may be very small theft, it may even be inconsequential theft that one can try to justify by saying it doesn't hurt Disney, but it IS theft. PERIOD.

You really can't argue with that logic. The only argument against that logic is if you said, "SO WHAT?!"

 you are all brave...I have read other post reguarding reusing refillable mugs. One word of advise....FLAMESUIT! Good luck, everyone play nice!!! :bounce:

I love these boards and I am so indebted for the help and info that I receive here.

That said......people tend to reveal their dark side (insert evil laugh :smooth: _) when the subject of the refillable mug is posted and each time I read the thread (never post) and shake my head  and wonder how on God's green earth could anyone possibly care about this so passionately!!!! :rotfl2:

Go for it Jill and have a fantastic time. Your values and morals are still intact. ;)

have any such "law" printed on it ANYWHERE! I think we purchased them over 5 years ago :teeth: . DH just asked me if they were still good to use as we plan on hopping over to POFQ for those beingettes (sp?) cause' they were soooooo yummy!

We are planning on purchasing three refillable mugs from POP. Maybe we could sell them on ebay this year for those going to POP after us!?! :rotfl: :rotfl: :teeth:

hee hee...just a thought!!! :smooth:

I don't give a hoot about mugs and I don't give a hoot if Disney loses a few bucks. What I am passionate about is common decency. If we don't obey all laws, then where do we draw the line? Do you teach your children it's OK to steal some things but not others? Do you teach them it's OK to steal if you don't get caught?

I again pose the question, but in a different way -- What would you do if you saw your child knowlingly steal a Mickey Bar or a small bag of chips or a banana from the food court? Would you wink and nod and figure it's OK, or would you stop the child? If you would stop the child, how is that any different from stealing 12 ounces of a soft drink? For most people, I think it comes down to it being almost impossible to get caught with the soft drink thing.

I know that filling a mug you bought last year with 12 ounces of Minute Maid Lite Lemonade is not a major crime. I'm hung up on THE PRINCIPLE of the thing. When you deal with principles, dollar amounts are meaningless.

By the way, I know it's tough to get someone's "tone" in writing. I'm not yelling all of this. I'm not thumping a Bible or a law book and shouting. I'm more sitting back with a small smile, both amazed and amused at people's attitudes. I know we're all entitled to our own opinions -- God Bless America!
