VS. Counter service at MGM.

Would we be better off eating breakfst at the food court, before leaving for MGM. I haven't heard too many compliments of the MGM counter food. :sad2:

We have a 5 pm PS for Chef Mickey's so we don't need a huge meal at breakfast/lunch. Sit down is out, as well as pizza. DDs don't do pizza.

I always eat breakfast before I leave for the parks. It just seems to eat up too much time to stop and have breakfast once at the parks. We usually have one person go get food for everyone, and bring it back to the room. Or better yet, we stop at a grocery store for Pop Tarts and cereal.

We usually eat quick snack breakfasts in the room. So much quicker and cheaper. I thought we may need a bigger counter meal, to hold us off till our 5pm dinner.

We stocked up on Pop tarts and donuts and had a quick breakfast before going to the parks. There is a Publix that isn't too far from Pop, they gave us directions at the check in counter.

We stayed at Pop Century last May (2004).

Every morning, I would go to the food court and pick up a couple of things to eat for my wife and I and my 4 year old. It was usually....big cinnimon roll for me....muffin for my wife.....mickey waffle for my 4 year old.

I'd go pick up the breakfast while my wife was getting ready in the morning, so we wouldn't lose any time.

For some reason I was able to be ready in about 10 minutes while it would usually take my wife about a half-hour to get ready in the morning....

So the 20 minute difference was spent getting breakfast and bringing it back to the room.

I'd say grab breakfast before the park.....Pop Century's food court has an excellent selection from muffins, cinnamon rolls, waffles, etc....to eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits....etc...

speedy :smooth:

I would also grab breakfast at the Pop Food court prior to going to MGM. I did the same thing as speedy, except it was me who beat DH getting dressed in the morning.

I think I'd eat at POP. Looking at the counter service menus from the Studios, I only see one counter services place for breakfast and it says "seasonal". There is a bakery though. Sometimes if we don't want a big breakfast we wait until we get to the park and grab something at the bakery.

If you do get to the parks without eating make a stop at Starring Rolls bakery, just to the right of the tip board. They have a good selection of breakfast items.

Starring Rolls has good breakfast food, but I think it's pricier than Pop's.

We stayed at Pop Century last July and ate at the food court before heading out to the parks. :flower:

We ate breakfast at the Pop Food Court on most mornings. The serving sizes are HUGE and the prices aren't too bad for Disney. (The food is pretty yummy too!) On our main MGM day we had a 1:00 PS at Sci-Fi and we are late goers who don't get up and moving until about 9:30 or 10:00 so we really didn't want a big breakfast. When we got to MGM we stopped at Min and Bill's Dockside Diner and got a cream cheese stuffed pretzel to split and we were fine until our 1:00 PS. The pretzel was REALLY good too :)

DH and I loved POP for breakfast. It doesn't have to be expensive--I had a bowl of oatmeal ($2.50) with a banana (1.00) cut up in it and brown sugar sprinkled on top two days in a row, it was so good!

There is a huge variety of food to choose from at the POP food court, both cooked and in self-serve refrigerated areas.
