What are good items to try / avoid here? Am staying here next trip, and would like to know some must-haves / horrible items.

I liked the Twinkie Tiramisu!

They have several "novelty" type items that aren't necessarily all that good, but are part of the Pop Century experience, such as tye-dyed bread and tye-dyed cheesecake, Peanut butter & marshmallow fluff sandwiches...fun things like that.

I like the tye-dye cheesecake. Most of the food items we've gotten at POP have been pretty tasty.

I guess I'm going to be the negative one here, but we were pretty disappointed in the food at Pop. It was surpising since we had such great food at the Movies. We tried the pizza and even my nephew (who loves pizza) did not like it. It was pretty bland and nasty. Also, gave the pb & fluff sandwich a try twice and both times it was stale. The fluff was melted all over the place.

My DD loved the penne pasta from the kid's menu.

They had a sloppy joe I had last May. It was tasty.

DH and I have pretty much liked everything we've tried at POP (that's one of the main reasons we like staying there so much!). We have tried and enjoyed: the sloppy joes, catch of the day fish w/orzo (don't remember what kind of fish it was, but it was good), pasta w/sauce, paninis, twinkie tiramisu and even the fluffernutter sandwich. We've also had the standards: chili cheese fries, chicken strips, etc and were good. The only thing DH remembers we didn't like was the lo mein. I can't remember what we thought about it, though.

I agree with swankybeth about the lo mein- not good!! We only ate dinner at Pop once, but we did have a few snacks and dessert items. We liked all of the snacky things, but nobody really liked the dinner food.

I love the shrimp lo mein. The only problem I have is that they give you way too much!

STAY AWAY FROM THE PIZZA :sad2:

Here are my photo's of the good tasting food at the food court:

I tried some of the flatbread sandwiches, and while not completely inedible, I'd never order them again. We ate there last year 3 times and I told DH that I would not eat at the food court again!! I'd rather go to the McDonald's near the All Stars first!

I do love the chocolate ice cream though!!

I tried the tye-dyed cheesecake last year after reading about it on here. To me, it was horrible. Didn't taste anything like cheesecake that I'm used to eating. It had more of a cake-y texture instead of being smooth and creamy.

Overall, I don't think we had anything bad at Pop's food court (other than the cheesecake). Never did get to try mom's fried chicken though. Is that just one night a week or what?

The majority of the food we ate at the POP was tasty. We enjoyed the meatball sub, chicken strips, and breakfast burrito. We did not like the chili fries. The fries were good, but the chili was not what we liked.

When we stayed at All-Star Movies all the way back in 2002 they had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich available at breakfast time... It was such a simple thing, but I couldn't get enough of them :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if that delicious sandwich is available at POP, because that's where we are staying this time round...

We were there in December, and were pretty disappointed with the foodcourt. I was craving a meatball sub, after having one at the French Quarter food court, but even though they are, I believe, the same price, the Pop foodcourt did not toast the bun, leading to a soggy sub. The tie-dye cheesecake was awful - but my dd did love the way it colored her tongue. Especially disappointing was the way they had almost all of the beverage bar closed down by 930 at night. We only got a frozen coke once- the machines were either broken or closed all the time. The waits are long and the cleanliness was very unDisney. :confused3

I guess ia m in the minority because i didn't think that POp was all that great. I know diffrent people like diffrent things - the rest of my family loved it. i thought the sloppy joe I got was nasty. i did end up settling on a tuna sandwich when we went out of the cooler and that was pretty tasty. Aslo the yogurt parfait was really good !

The ChickenMediteranean flatbread was great. The Ham and Havarti Flatbread was plain jane. Nothing special. But it was good. The Chicken Curry Flatbread was great too.
But both the chicken ones were fairly out of the ordinary. So order maybe one for the whole party and split it and see how you like it rather than order a pile of it and not like it. Besides, they're pretty big and you might be able to share one plus a chocolate Marshmallow cheesecake and save some $.
The Chocolate marshmallow cheesecake was yummy. The Tie Dye was just ok.
Loved the Shrimp Lo Mein. We got it to go and it was packed in one of those Chinese takeout Boxes. It had 15 shrimp in it. I expected the standard rip off 3 or 4. The Pizza's were nothing special.
The Penne Alfredo for kids was really good.
I didn't have the burgers or the dogs but people around us that were eating em liked em. Same with the meatball sub.
Nobody in my party ate the daily TV dinner special but again those around us seemed to like it. I didn't see much food left on the trays as people got up to leave which was a good sign.

The portions on many things here are big enough to share. So you can end up getting good food for under $5 a piece. That's about what you'd pay at Mc Garbage. Mc Garbage isn't even close to the quality of pop.

One item that I really remember liking was the steak & cheese sub. It was pretty good! :thumbsup2

Great comments! We are staying there in may and its great to know what to eat and what not to eat! :thumbsup2

I don't really remember anything being GREAT or anything too terrible, with the exception of the tye dye cheesecake... I thought it was terrible and definitely not willing to try to see if it has improved. :scared1:
