We are staying at PC in February with our 2 children (ages 8 & 5). I wondered if your children liked the theming of PC? Or did they not 'get' it? I have seen opinions that PC is like an adult-themed hotel for children, so now I am second guessing my choice. We stayed at ASMo 2 years ago, and my kids loved it. We need to stay at a Value resort as we are going during Peak season.

We just got back Sunday. My 8 year old DD loved Pop Century, we usually stay at ASMo but wanted to try this since it was new. I don't know if she "got" the themes but she really liked Lady and the Tramp and the Big Wheel and Mogli (Jungle Book). She loved the pool with the sprinkling flowers too. Our Inlaws stayed at Wilderness Lodge and the kids liked Pop better! Really so did DH and I, it was just fun at Pop!

This past Feb I took my mom and ds,9 and he enjoyed it. In the main lobby they have mementos from each decade and he enjoyed hearing his Mom and Grandma talk about things from "their day" and he couldn't believe some of the stuff was for real :p .

We stayed in August and my daughter loved the place sooo much all she talks about is going back. Mom and Dad thought the place was pretty groovy too.

The Hippie Dippie Pool is awesome and Classic Hall and Everything Pop Gift Shop and Food Court are great. The Bus service was good and the rooms weren't as small as I anticipated. I stayed at CBR and POFQ (both moderate resorts) and I liked Pop better.

Have Fun.

My children, ages 10 to 2, loved the theming at POP. I think the "larger than life" decor is fun for everyone. It also gave us lots to talk about....mom & dad reminiscing, telling the kiddies about the "olden days" - LOL!

My DD has stayed at ASMo before. She loved the theming of the dalmatians and Toy Story and all of that. She recognized that and knew it.

However, when we went to Pop Century she had a blast with all of the interactive stuff. We stayed at the '70s section. Both of my DDs loved the Twister game and the fountains to play in. I'd say of the two resorts she like the theming better at ASMo, but she liked PC better because she could play more at PC. Hope that makes sense.

To be honest, I don't think Disney would create a value resort that children would not understand/enjoy. The icons at Pop Century are just as "known", actually more because they are what was popular back then and some are still now. Don't sweat it, enjoy your stay, you will love it!

Have fun!

with a little explanation here and there, my kids understood the theming at pop... they also enjoyed identifying certain decades by "when mommy and daddy were born" or "when cousin tommy was born," etc... plus they were so amazed by the fact that we survived pre-cellphone, microwave, cd player, etc... it was a great resort and they claim they never want to stay anywhere else! LOL!
