I just called cm and asked about the mug debate. Cm told me it was fine to bring all star music mugs to pop. So thanks for the input. :earsgirl: ::MickeyMo :Pinkbounc

Might I ask who you called, because they gave you wrong information. :sad2:

Yes you can take them and yes you will probably not be stopped. But official policy is mugs are only good for the length of stay at the current resort. I emailed guest communications and asked specifically and this is their reply:

Dear Sammie,
Thanks for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.
We are happy to know you will be visiting us again!

Old refillable mugs are no longer being used for current visits.

We wish our response was more favorable. We look forward to your family having a magical Disney experience!

If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!
Sincerely,

2003-2004. So, yes I used it last year, and this year. :confused3 No-one batted an eye. By the way, I paid for that one, but the ones I find on Garbage Cans, and around the pool, I haven't. :p

I truly do not understand why anyone even asks about the mug policy at Disney.

There are always 2 sides to the discussion. Those that know what the policy is now and respect that; and those that ignore it. Why even ask??

As to stealing, well I was always lead to believe it is wrong whether you get caught or not. I guess some feel something is only wrong if someone makes them stop. :sad2:

As to saving money, believe me what little you save by ignoring current policy you lose somewhere else.

I say go ahead and bring your old mug. But why stop there? Go use it while you're pool hopping at Yacht and Beach Club.
Who said anything about pool hopping? The OP was asking about the mugs and not the pool. Why did you want to pool hop?

Now don't get all judgemental on me now. It's not like taking something you aren't entitled to without paying for it is stealing or anything.

Pool hopping, mug reusing, it's all good. Just giving some more tips.

What's really good is to bring in your old travel mug from other theme parks and resorts or the quickie market and just fill em up. Oh and a really nice tip. If you don't have a mug, just bring a new plastic liner from home and put it in the ice bucket from the hotel, take it over to the coke machine and fill it up. Just a few more tips on savin a lil money is all.

Pooh. That tip on the Garbage Cans and around the pool. How can I Possibly top that one? :rotfl2:

Oh my husband did a number last year. We were at POP and we had POP mugs from that visit so no stealing there. Well we got one of the pizza's to take to the room. I sent hubby back down and told him to get some drinks for us as we had come right off the bus and went straight to the food court without stopping in our room to get our mugs.

Well guess what he did? You know those plastic popcorn containers you get as a souvineer at the parks? Yep, he took THAT thing down and filled it up with pop so he wouldn't have to carry all those mugs and have to go back later for refills. :rotfl: I am sooo glad I wasn't in the food court with him. I didn't know until he got back but I can imagine some of the looks he got ;) Or maybe no one even noticed. :rotfl:

It never ceases to amaze me how the same troll(s) can come on here and post the same tired old mug or pool hopping question and get a response. Each one of these threads is the same. It's their first post on the boards and they immediately ask a question about mugs or pool hopping just like an old pro. Then someone says "hey, welcome to the DIS and by the way, this is a hot topic so be prepared for the morality police....". Then the bickering starts and the thread gets closed. Unbelievable!

I have to hand it to this troll because he seems to have logged on under a few assumed handles and started his own controversary. Well done! You must live a pitiful existence.

The only reason I check these threads out is to see if its the same people responding and for the most part - it is. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't even know why I bothered opening this thread... then replying.. :sad2: I should have known better! Same-o-same-o. So what else is new?

Cobbler-That is too funny, I had done a general search on yahoo earlier regarding the mug debate just to see what other sites are saying about the mug refill policy (even if it were forever my dh would refuse to hall 5 mugs back down to Florida). Anyway on another open forum this person had wrote in to say that "I saw a guy filling up an empty popcorn container w/ soda, noone said anything to him". "While I'd admit that I wish the folks at WDW would come up with a somewhat larger container for drinks, I just didnt get this guy". TOO funny. I wonder if it was your DH or if other guys were filling up there popcorn container too......

I think Disney needs a huge banner hanging at all food courts with the exact policy of these mugs!! I admit we never would take ours back for another trip but I really was never 100% sure either way.

This thread has run its course. The official policy with the mugs at most of the resorts if purchased the last couple of years, is that the mug is good for the length of stay in which you purchased the mug.

This debate gets discussed every couple of weeks. There are signs in most of the resorts stating this policy.

Thank you everyone for participating.
