We are going to Disney World in the middle of April. Right now we have standard rooms, but I want to know if it is worth asking for preferred & paying extra. This is our first trip to Disney & we have a 5yr old. Also, if I were to request a building, what would be the best?? Thanks for your help :earsgirl:

I love the 50's. but I was born then so that is one reason why I love it.

it is close to the food court and it has it own swimming pool.

Although it's nice to stay in those rooms facing the main pool right next to the main building, I think the preferred rooms at this resort are the least worth it. Mainly because, in my opinion, Disney designed this resort so that most rooms are fairly close to the main building (unlike All-Star Music, lol). But, if you want the 60s theme, and that would be your favorite, then the preferred might be worth it to you. I've stayed in the 50s, 60s, and 80s, and the 50s and 80s seemed like maybe 2 or 3 minutes more walk, but not a huge difference.

We stayed in the 70's in December and hope to stay there again this year. We were in the building right beside the food court. It was close to the main building, parking lot and the buses. We had a view of the fireworks at Epcot also.

I agree with FREE DIVER. Also the parking to the prefered room is further away and as he said too its not that far anyways. So I would say no its not too.

We did the preferred rooms (60's) one time last year, then the 50's section a couple months later. It was about the same distance so no, I would never pay for preferred again.
