Hi all

We are sailing on the Magic for the third time on Sunday but this time it will be from Dover in our home country! Being British we know well how unpredictable and wet the weather can be.

With this in mind, does anyone know what happens to things like the sail away party and the pirate/frozen deck parties if the weather is bad. Do they carry on and dance in the cold and wet or do they cancel them, move them indoors etc

Thanks

I do not know for sure, but I cannot see them moving the activities inside. I do not think there are any indoor spaces large enough to hold that many people.

Our sail away party was moved inside a couple of years ago due to a medical emergency at the pool. It was very crowded. Our Frozen party carried on this year on the Wonder during a light rain. I think it was touch and go as to whether they were going to cancel it.

They can definitely move the sailaway party inside if the weather is really bad. Yes, it can be tight in the atrium but they do inside anyway as to not to disappoint guests.

Not sure about the Frozen party.

Our 4th of July party was moved from the deck to the Atrium (on the Fantasy) because of the weather. I don't think they will hold deck parties in the rain due to the risk of the performers getting hurt (slip and fall).

On the Barcelona departure in 2007 for the transatlantic, our sailaway party was completely rained out. I don't remember if they moved it inside or not as we just went to our rooms and enjoyed the views.

We have had the sail away party moved inside before. And the pirate party too although significantly different and smaller.

The Frozen party (assuming it hasn't changed since last year) isn't very long and could be moved into the theatre if necessary. It has a few storytellers who involve the children and a singalong. It was very, very cold and windy in Norway last year, so be prepared!
