I could tell she was not in a good mood when I was just in the room she is running for Phinny! It must be frustrating to have people ask the same questions over and over again! She kept asking the same person to step into a teleporter to make room for others since the event is about to end and this guy would not listen. I am really surprised she did not boot him!

Bless your heart Lily! i would have snapped a long time ago! (sometime the first week of dream month, to be exact!) :grouphug:

Poor Lily. is right! :) When my daughter was in there, I noticed her usual "stalkers" in there too and I could tell it was bugging her. She would tell the room to pick a teleporter and they would just keep on talking. Hugs to Lily!!!

egad you guys saw me in there???

sorry :(

on a more serious note, I always take a brief moment to say hi to them and probably crack a small joke. I hope I never bother them, but I have known them a long time so I definitely dont get the impression I ever wear out my welcome. After a brief exchange I always make a hasty exit as I do know they are working, and there are people waiting to get into the room.

It must be difficult sometimes. I mean anyone who has ever been in a room of mine for any length of time knows I will boot pretty quickly. They dont have the luxury, they are expected to be more patient, AND there would be a post the second after they booted someone on every fan site with most likely inaccurate information.

All I can say is you can make a difference if you always thank them, always wish them a good day/good night and try and make them laugh once in a while. BUT most importantly, remember they are doing a job.

There will always be people who will drive them crazy, but maybe your politeness will be the difference in making them have a good day or a bad day.

I didnt aim this obviously at anyone in this thread. Just a topic I wanted to share my thoughts on.

good post aengus! I always say hi and try to be very friendly, without wearing out my welcome! I never ask them question I know they hear all the time. The first week of Halloween events, I made a point to tell all of them thank you for dream month, and what a good job they did. I am sure it was a nice change from "why didn't I get dream ears?" "It's not fair" "why did others get so many dreams and I didn't get any?"

People forget that there is a real life person behind the HOST avatar that has feelings too!

You know I don't get to do that many host events bc of the times I can access VMK but when I do get the privilege to join in on the fun I do always say hi to the host and continue on my way, as it should be... My fun is to sit back and watch the flock of ppl that surround them when they roam around the general public.. They all just smother the poor host or staff person.. Maybe they should travel in packs so they can protect each other.. :confused3

One thing about people staying in the rooms for a long time when I try to go through these host rooms the lag is SOOO bad it takes me awhile to move.

It may seem some of us are not moving but we are trying! :headache: :rotfl2:

This is true, but just so you know A, I was not referring to you.

Actually, I feel everybody should thank the hosts when they can. Those are some hard working girls.

However, I see some (quite frequently) in there talking to hosts when my kid gets in the room and then I come along 100 people later and see that same person standing in there talking....you can generally see the host is trying to be nice, but conduct business at the same time. That is what I meant by "stalker"....not Aengus. :)

AND GUYS TOO! Not just girls! ;)

But yeah. thanks for all your hard work Staff!

I don't know how they do it! I have only had one of my rooms full once. It was hard to keep up with and very frustrating. I could not do that day after day!

I arrived in the room when you did and saw you say a joke which i am sure they liked. As you said you then left yesterday. What you did was perfectly fine.

Aww that is a shame. I do feel for them. Like Aengus said, they cant freely boot people and sometimes I wish I had the "public boot magic" to help them out. I know sounds evil, but they work so hard to please the masses and pleasing all can only go so far.

Just a request to people who visit host games, a nice hello and a quick comment is great, but to dialogue and take up time in the room is really not fair for other vmkr's who are also seeking a prize from the host.

No, it's not evil. I think we would all like to have that same boot in the form of a magic pin at times. :lmao:
