My little doggy is in clear distress We tucked her in to bed an hour or so ago and now she's whimpering and barking... not the bark of a dog who's heard a fox or badger, more the noises of an animal in pain

Might be a good time to take her to the vet. No sense in her being in pain needlessly.

I agree that a trip to the vet is in order. Animals are usually pretty stoic (unless it's our 87 pound German Shepherd who is a wuss) and if she's in that kind of discomfort/pain she needs to be seen.

She's settled now. Had she been in more distress or for one second longer, it would have certainly been a trip to the emergency vet. We think it's down to some new meds she's on.
