We've just decided to go to Disney at the beginning of February! :) Our son will be 14 months old. We're going with my husband, my mom and my grandma (BABYSITTING!!!!). We're going to stay at the Beach Club Villas.

I'm thinking that the pools will be too cold to use at that time of the year, right? Normally I'd say no way, but considering that it was 70 degrees here in Virginia today....

Too cold, right? Or pack bathing suits anyway?

Pack them! I have two words for you . . .

HOT TUB!

Leave your mom and gradma with the little critter and head out with DH for a nice end of the day soak. :cloud9:

Besides, you might get lucky and have some extra warm days for swimming!

Pack bathing suits for everyone. The pool at the BCV is fantastic. We could barely get our kids out to go into the parks. The weather could just as easily be in the 80's as anything else and coming from north of FL, depending on the weather at home at the time, 70's and 80's will feel warm. Also, I think all the pools at Disney are heated to 70 degrees when needed.

We've only ever travelled to WDW in Jan/Feb and swim every time!! Sometimes it's a bit chilly, but it's always so much warmer for us there than it is at home during that time! (we're in the NW)

we went of Feb of 2005 and only could swim 1 day .. total hit or miss that time of year I think, but my mom lives down there and said how hot it has been these last couple weeks.. so pack them for sure! ya never know!

Pack bathing suits anyway. You could be there in the middle of a heat snap.

Thanks! Well, now it's gotten quite cold here in VA. So, I'm kind of doubting it. My son is only 14 months, so I wouldn't feel comfortable putting him the pool when it's cold out. But I think I'll pack bathing suits anyway just in case. You never know!

Except for S/D, all the onsite resorts heat their pools bathtub warm; there is always steam rising from them in winter, even when it's in the 70's out. (S/D heats their pools, but not that warm; I think they keep them at about 82F, as opposed to the body temp standard that Disney uses.)

It is very comfortable *in* the water, the chilly part can come when getting to the water. I recommend bringing along a tracksuit or something similar that you can put over your suit for the walk to the pool and change into in the poolside restrooms before heading back to your room. While the low
70's/upper 60's is quite a comfortable air temp in street clothes, it's pretty chilly at that temp when you are soaking wet and have a lot of skin exposed.
