We are staying at the POP Dec. 15-19. I know the pools are heated, but I just don't want my DD (3 yrs.old) getting sick getting in and out the pools. What are your opinions on this?

Thanks!

I too am interested in this. We will be there Nov 30- Dec 7. We haven't decided on a resort yet but if no swimming I might not look at what pool. What is the weather like the 1st week in Dec.?

We just got back from POP, the pools were wonderful. The only thing you can do is wrap up and RUN back to your room and into a hot shower!

Weather during December is variable... We were there from 12/9 - 12/12 this year. It was in the 80s the first day and was definitely shorts and bathing suits weather well into the evening. Two days later temps were only in the 60s and windy. Locals considered it to be very chilly... but there were a few swimmers even on those days. We didn't bother swimming because the weather was perfect for touring, but a lot depends on your own comfort level!

in late November/early December. The late Nov time was too cold to swim (even with a heated pool!) but we swam most days in the early Dec trip. It is really hard to plan for. We usually don't plan on it but when it is warm enough, its a great surprise!

We were there this past Dec from the 10-15th. It was WAY too cold for swimming (and we're from the north, so cold doesn't bother us). Most days were in the high 50's, low 60's, and we had one day where it hit about 70. The kids did go in the pool one day and froze. Not worth it for us!

My suggestion is to pack a bathing suit for everyone. You just never know. We were at POR the first week of Dec. and there were poeple swimming. I'm a Florida girl, and for me and I do not swim in any month past Sept. As far as dressing for the days, dress in layers. The mornings can be cool, but as the day goes on, the sun tends to warm things up fast. The days are warm and as the sun sets you will resort back to the jackets or sweatshirts. Bring a blanket with you to the Mk if your are staying to watch Spectro and Wishes. It is cool and breezy. During the day if it's breezy and overcast it can make for a cold day also, but then again what is your definition of cold. We were at AK the first weekend on Dec. 2004 and we were cold. We had on jeans and long sleeve shirts, etc. but people were walking around in shorts and riding the water ride! To me anything below 70 is cold, to others that is swimming weather. :sunny:

Germs cause sickness, not being in and out of cold air/water... so, depending who else is in the pool is going to depend on whether or not DD gets sick... and that's the case 365 days a year...
