Which is the best pool at SSR when you have a 15 yr old. i.e. is the quiet pool really just for adults.

There were loads of kids at the quiet pool in Congress Park when we stayed there last year, so it's definitely not just for adults. :sunny:

We just came back from a short stay at ssr. You will have the main pool with a waterslide. Then 2 quiet pools. The new quiet pool is up toward the front where the new buildings are being completed. They can use any of the pools its not restricted by age. Have fun!!

We tried both pools when we were there last September. The one time we went to the quiet pool we got all kinds of looks from those at the pool without kids. We had 4 kids w/ us (3,8,12,18) and they weren't being loud or running around crazy, just having a good time. After about 10 minutes we left and went to the main pool w/ the slide.

How did they get the name "quiet pools"? When I hear that it makes me think there's a pool in a library. Is there no talking, you have to whisper?

Most of the DVC literature you see now will refer to them as "Leisure Pools."

Either way, the true intent is simply "pool with no slide." ;)

I think your kids will enjoy the theme pool with the slide more then the quiet/leisure pools, but they will be welcome at all of the pools.

hehe thats what made me ask. :rotfl: wondered if it was like at the cinema and you had to stay quiet. do they allow you to jump in at the quiet pools or do they just leasurely swim up and down :rotfl:

"Quiet Pools" actually allow a little more horse play because there are no lifeguards. WDW lifeguards tend to be a little strict for my taste. Quiet pools certainly have people running and jumping without the lifeguards yelling "WALK". Enjoy, just be respectful of others.

thats good.

our youngest is 15 and would be on his own with us but my other son is 20 and enjoyed BB and TL until 3 yrs ago when he broke his neck whilst playing sport so I try and watch where we go. We still need to go to the pools etc with the slides for our youngest sons benefit but I am consious of our older son not now being able to participate whilst at the same time want our youngest to have fun. with the info above think youngest can enjoy both pools.
