Looking for a short July or August stay mostly focused around resort time. Please tell me about the pools at Riviera. Anything special?

We thought the pool at Riviera wasn't terribly exciting. The slide was cute, but DS12 said it wasn't very fast. If you have younger children, they might enjoy the splash area. What we did enjoy was the gelato cart and the pool bar right by the pool!

I think it depends on your travel party. We brought our three children (ages 7 and under) and the Riviera pool was a dream for us. We started the day in the “relaxation pool” until the main pool opened at 11. We then moved over there where our kids had a blast. The big pool has a zero-entry area, which is great for littles, as well as big slide that is awesome for bigger kids. There’s also a separate splash-pad area that has really fun small slides, water guns, etc.. This area was nice because our littlest kiddo (age 3) could be very independent, our older two could come in and out as they pleased, and mom and dad could sit in a comfy chair with a cocktail from the bar.

Just stayed at Riviera. We liked the resort a lot. The pools are good-- not on the magnitude of SAB but they compete with other resort pools quite favorably IMO. The slide isn't super fast but it is longer than some of the other resorts. I'm sure they are all about the same speed, but don't expect it to be a waterpark level slide. My boys (3 and 5) LOVED the kids splash area. My only complaint is that there was no lifeguard stationed there and many kids (some too old to be in the little kids area) were unsupervised and weren't being safe. I felt like I had to play lifeguard and I didn't like that. The quiet pool is nothing special but it was never too crowded. The chairs were nice, there are lots of umbrellas. Zero entry is nice. The gelato cart was closed due to covid I presume.

I’d give the pool area a 7/10. Decent kids splash pad, nice 0 entry into the main pool, the slide is not great (really slow), great lounge shade sofa type things (don’t know the real name for this).
