yes .. yet another thread about CI&S. I just got my confirmation from "ValueTrips.com". Sicen part of my stay is outside the $54 p/n King suite, 2 of the days were given to me at $64. I suppose I am still a bit skeptical about these "low" prices. I wrote in anotehr thread that if the price is too good to be true, than there could be something wrong. In reading another thread the most negative things I read were the bus schedules (I will have a car), lack of laundry facilities (I'll find a laundromat.. I have a car), all they had was Rasin Bran and not Froot Loops or Frosted Flakes (I'll go out to breakfeast if I really need something diverse - I'll have a car .. seeing a theme here???), there was a lack of closet space (Well, i suppose I can leave some clothes in the trunk of my car until I need them)... All joking aside, these are minor issues at best .. well at lease for me .. My one big concern however are the POOLS .. I know the property has 3.. and from the descriptions, they are none too large .. in fact few have sugeested that if all the properties were maxed out .. these three pools could just about accomodate all. Now I know going to extremes here, but I plan on using these pools .. in fact, many people have their own criteria for choosing a hotel. I didn't go with price this time but rather all the good things I've heard and the rather inexpesive rates for 7 days (~$450). I realize this ain't the Hard Rock or Portifino.. However .. anyone have a feel for the "pool" offerrings at this place. The web site for the resort suspiciously has little or no photos of the pool areas aside from some renderings which I can't take seriously.

Thanks in advance ..

P.S. .. also have SpringHill suites in Marriot Village booked .. Pool looks rather nice .. large .. also paying $90 a night .. is it worth the extra bucks???

We were at the CI&S Memorial Day weekend.. we were told both hotels were full (CI&S and Amiresuites). The pool was nice and not very crowed during our entire stay. We had a view of the pool and I never noticed it to be overcrowed. My son really enjoyed the slide (mostly kids in that pool and adults in the CI&S pool) The pools are right next to each other (from the pictures on the web site you can't tell) also there is a restroom/changing area by the pool with the slide (we didn't use it). As for the breakfast...it was great!! Several kinds of cereal, muffins, toast, fruit.... if they don't have what you want..just ask they will try to get it! Our only problem was no pillows or sheets for the sleeper sofa, we spent one night without pillows and had to go to the front desk the second night because we still didn't have any. We finaly got some and spent the rest of the trip with a note stuck on them requesting that they be left in our room until we checked out!...lol....no real big problems!

hi. read your msg. i have the same concerns about the pools at calypso cay country inn and suites. we plan on spending a lot of time at the pools and i dont want to be disappointed.

we also booked thru valuetrips and got the 64.00 a night rate. we are arriving on july 19. when was your arrival date? if you are back before we leave can you give me some feedback? i would really appreciate it.

thanks for your help and good luck to you......us:)

You guys won't be disappointed. The place is spanking new, and breakfast is great.
The pool at CI&S is a plain rectangle, heated and the shared pool between the two properties is really nice, and when we were back from the parks 7-9 pm, they were not full at all. It has a simple water slide with a few twists, zero depth, two crabs that spray, and a deeper end. I don't know if Amerisuites had it's own pool. You can get nicer pools from what I understand at different hotels, and it is certainly not a water park, but it was nice.
I paid a lot less for my room (39.50) and I understand people are having difficulty getting the hot deals they used to have. But a very nice place. The rooms are not huge, but still plenty of room for all of our stuff and luggage for 10 days....

I know if I can't get that cheap rate next time I go, I'll bid on a resort www.skyauction.com and try to win a bid for 7 nights for around $250 at Silver Lake or Hilton Grand vacation club if it's offered.

My friend has a time share there and has not used it yet. One of the big selling points was supposed to be the pool- complete with lazy river. What is being described is not what was described to her. Will she be disappointed?

If she EXPECTS a lazy river, then yes, she'll be disappointed as there is none. :(

This is a wonderful post. I am so glad I found it.

We will be there for two differeent week-ends the end of August (between a DVC stay).

I think I may be overpaying $89 for night for the King suite, so I will be calling back tomorrow to see what deals I can com up with.

Again, and reports from frequent visitors would be appreciated.

We stayed there for two nights at the end of May. The hotel was nice and new. We have always liked our stays at Country Inn and Suites where ever we have gone.

I did notice that the pool really is smaller than it is depicted in one of the web sites that has a drawing of the pool area. When my family used the pool, it was realitively quiet and my kids had a grand time on the slide. There were two conventional pools on each side of the zero degree entry pool.

For the price, it is a great place to stay. It does not take long at all to get to WDW from 536. I would not hesitate staying there again.

I too booked this resort through Valuetrips and could not believe the price I got for a one bedroom suite at Christmas ($69). It appears to be very new so I am expecting it to be clean. I found an excellent web site that gives you a good idea of what to expect. www.calypsocay.com at the end of the first paragraph is a link for "updated construction photos" click here and then click the photo to enlarge. Also, under "What's new" is a link to an interactive resort map which puts the whole place in perspective.
I hope those of you that are staying here before me, let the rest of us know how it was.
