We were down there March 28-April 4. Pools were cold (at least for me) and my DH wouldn't even go in! I thought I had read that all of the pools were not as warm as they used to be. Anybody that has been down this month know if they are any warmer? :confused3

unofficial word is they have lowered the heaters. I really do think that is the reason they are a bit cooler and got that from a good source.

Pools in this part of Florida will start heating up in early June on their own. At least mine does.

We were just there a few days ago at the Yacht Club and the water was very warm to us. I dont' like cold water at ALL ,, so my little toe goes in first ,,,, the daily temps
ranged from 76 to 87 ,, , the water in the pools was warm enought to get me in everyday ,,, the hubby too

The pools the last two weeks at CBR and POR went from warm one day to very cool the next. It really was kind of a crap shoot. I'm talking the same pool around the same time of day.

What about the pools being heated? How is weather late April early May? Warm enough to swim?

Hi English Rose!!

It is '96 F here today. Pools are beginning toheat up on their own. We just got out of my parent's pool (which is not heated) and the water was "80 F.

Pools will be warming up rather quickly now. The lows are only in the "80's at night so the water does not loose much heat. I think it is safe to say that it will be ok to swim down here!! :sunny:

I just got back from POP a couple of days ago. I thought the pool was cooler than it was at the same time last year. It wasn't that big of a deal during the day when it was hot, bbut night was a different story. I remember last year getting in the water and thinking it was warm, I only got cold when I got out. This year I was in the water shivering.

We had a pool when I was growing up and I know that just a few degrees can make a big difference.

As long as teh pool is around 70F I will swim in it we always come down in Dec and always go in the pools.

We were at AKL last week, the pool was cool, but not too cold to swim. I'm from FL. so I'm a bit of a sissy when it comes to cold water, if I swim anyone will swim. Around here the water is usually swimable by mother's day.

We were at ASMo the week of May 1 and the pool was freezing; we did not even get in. We were at POFQ the week of May 14th and it was okay. Not great, but okay. Not as warm as I have experienced in the past at WL, AKL, and Poly.

I stayed at WL from April 2-9 and I thought the water was fine.

Then again, I'm from Canada. We're the only ones you'll see at Blizzard Beach in January. :thumbsup2

We were at AKL in January this year, pool was freezing. We go to either
WL or AKL every year in January and the pools were very warm, felt great after day a park to go swimming and relax. But this year was very different, I will be very disappointed if this trend continues and they lower heat in winter.

:rose: I,m getting nervous DD willnot be happy with cold pools. Hopefully all of you who think they,re cool are from the warm south My English veins are used to really cold pools!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It has been very warm here (in the 90's every day for 2 weeks) and the lows at night are in the upper 70's to the low 80's and very little rain. So, the pools are not cooling, in fact they are warming up quite nicely. I live on the Gulf Coast and the pools around here are usually within 1 -2 degrees of the Gulf temperature. The Gulf is around 80 right now.

The one thing I don't like down here is that the pools get TOO warm in the summer. By the end of the summer pools in my area are around 90'. YUCK!!! Instead of a heater, I wish they would have a cooler. :goodvibes

I sure hope the pool at AS Music is nice and warm when we're there soon! Hangin' at the pool is a big part of our trip! :)

We are just back from The Disney Magic cruise and the pools were "heated" to 84 and 86 degrees. It wasn't my idea of warm. The outside temps. were hovering around 90 and the pools still felt a little chilly to me. Last summer we went to the Swan and the pools were just right-felt really nice. However, we have been to POR, POP and CBR over the past year and all were too cold in my opinion. I even mentioned it on the comment card. I hope by the time you go they have changed things and the pools are warm enough to your liking. :thumbsup2
Nothing worse than a cold swimming pool on vacation!
