Pool Table questions

Thinking about getting a pool table for the dinning room.

Before you I'll use a 4x8 sheet of plywood to turn it into a dinnig room table when we're not playing. LOL

Anyone ordered online and had it delivered and set up?

I've got to go the delivery/set up route as I'm on 3rd floor and my floors are not level. They're going to have to work to get it up here, and then work some more to level it..

I've seen prices/quotes from 1600-3000 for an 8 foot table with return....

Anyone here a pool shark with some insite?

They have pool tables that convert to dining room tables. They also have pool table tops that go on dining room tables (nice ones, not $100 Walmart ones). I don't know about the delivery but check it out to make sure. Usually they assemble the table on site, the slate comes in pieces otherwise it is too heavy. You might also want to double check the weight. Being on a 3rd floor, is the structure of your apartment such that it can hold the weight of the table? You wouldn't want it falling through the floor.

I asked my landlord if it was okay. He seems to think so. The guy who lived here before me had a california king water bed up here, so i think the pool table would be okay....???

I know they have some that are "fake slate" that are suppose to be lighter. I just dont want some $399.99 pool table thats not worth 5 bucks if you know what i mean.

I know XMIL has one in her garage, thats beautiful, and VERY expensive...I dont want that kind either LOL....medium range I guess.
