Pool slide at PBH ?

Hi -
We will be at PBH Aug 8 - 11 (can't wait !) with dd's 6 & 9 years old. Can anyone tell me how fast/long the slide is at the pool? My dd6 is just coming around with her swimming this summer and may be intimidated if the slide is really fast. Also, do you remember how deep the water is where the slides ends?

Another question I had was about the Loews First card and room upgrades. We have 2 adjoining standard rooms booked with the Entertainment rate. Would we still be eligible for a room upgrade at check in ? Would this most likely be to a garden or pool view or has anyone ever been upgraded to a deluxe room ?

Water is about 5 feet deep, slide starts out slow but ends up somewhat faster.
Others have posted that Entertainment rates are not entitled to Loews First upgrades but the person at the desk has the ability to give you an upgrade. You need to upgrade 2 connecting rooms so I wouldn't count on it. The garden view rooms are actually garden view, they've done a very good job landscaping. If you really want a different view pay the difference so they can pre-assign you 2 connecting rooms.

Lewis, are you sure the water is 5 feet deep where you come out of the slide? Because my son can stand up there and he's only 48" tall. If you sit up while going down the slide t's much slower, I can go down & not even get my hair wet if I sit up. Lay down & you will fly, especially kids. They do have life jackets available.

The pool is 5 feet at it's deepest, it's 4 feet near the slide. I thought it was 5 feet where you come out but I'm not positive.

Thanks for the replies. I think the life jacket will cover us in either case...glad to hear they are available.

I will stick with the garden view rooms as we have booked them. I'm sure we'll be happy with any room/view...it sounds like a beautiful resort all around. Can't wait !

Does anyone have any details on the food selections at the pool bar ? If you've eaten there, how was it ?

I have had a few things, can't remember all of them . Buffalo chicken tenders, chicken sandwhich, burger, caser salad and i think they have a margarita pizza on there.
Everything was fine, but took a bt long to get. Just as easy to walk to sal's or the pizza place they are close to the pool.
