sorry if this question has been asked before:

what type of safety devices are offerred at the pools- i.e., do they have swimming vests for kids to borrow?

do they allow kids to wear vests? or is it best to buy those swimming suits with built in vests?

what type of pool toys do people bring?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Last week while playing ping pong in Community Hall at the BWV, our ball rolled under a huge rack of yellow swim vests of all sizes. I can't say I saw any kids wearing one in the "quiet" pool but I did see parents coming in a getting one from the CM's. I'm sure the kids were wearing them at the Luna Park Pool.

We stay at VWL and you can check out life jackets for the length of your stay, at no cost. We also have brought our own at times. For the past few trips our son had a wet suit with a built in life jacket.

Our kids have brought snorkels and masks (no fins) to the quiet pool. At the pool with lifeguards they were told they could not use the mask and snorkel in that pool. I think in the quiet pool small toys are fine.

Have a great trip!

Yes, this is true of the other resorts as well. You can get a vest for your entire stay, and noodles are a usually a big hit at the quiet pools. Sometimes there are a bunch laying around left behind by other guests who flew home and couldn't take them. Noodles and clear inner tubes are also allowed at SAB.

Some of the pools with slides will not allow a child to wear a vest on the slide. I know the big slide at SAB they won't.

The tubes at SAB are rental. The noodles are for sale at most of the larger pools. If you are going to SAB and you think you might want one buy it when you see it, they sell out fast.
They also sell those terrible water wings where the poor little kid is hanging up above the water by his arms. I really hate those things.
You can also get pool toys like buckets and shapes to make sand shapes and castles at the pool store and inside the resorts.
They also have nose clips, ear plugs goggles, and such, along with suntan lotion and stuff like that. Remember the waterless suntan lotion from home, it is outrageously expensive at the parks. Peggie

Hmmm--Must depend on the lifeguard at the top because DS wore his last August and I had even asked if he could and he said, "yes".

Edited to read DS wore a vest, not DH! :rotfl2:

SAB lifegaurds did not let my son go down the slide with a life vest in 2003. I don't know if that's something that changed.

At BWV there were noodles in the main pool that anyone could use and I know you can rent lifevests.
