Pool Question

So what other things are good to do in wdw is not doing the parks for adults

Disney Springs, the Boardwalk clubs and restaurants (Jellyrolls), golfing, boat rentals, mini golf, bowling alley or movie theater at Disney Springs, numerous bars and fine dining, etc, water parks. There are a ton of things to do at WDW for adults.

One of the mods or with a push AKL. Still undecided

Caribbean Beach definitely has that beachy/tropical feel; each village has its own beach. I love Coronado, it's colorful and fun.

AKL, though....boy, if you want a resort that doesn't feel like you're at a giant theme park complex, this is the one. It's exotic and romantic and unlike any other Disney resort. Or any other resort in Central FL, for that matter. AKL has some of the best restaurants on property, nice lounges, and two excellent pools.

Let's see....and parasailing, water skiing, wake boarding (CR), horseback riding (FW), bike rentals (numerous resorts), fireworks cruises, full-service spas (GF and SSR). And that's just on Disney property. If you'll have a car and can explore the area outside WDW, you'll find just about any sort of recreation you can think of.

Agreed. However, I don't think it's fair to compare this situation to the one in the original post. OP isn't trying to stay at a value and sneak into a deluxe. OP is trying to coordinate two parties, staying at resorts in the same level with only a bridge separating them, to spend some resort time together. If she decides to ask the lifeguard/resort, there is a 99.9999% chance they will be okay with it.
Absolutely! I agree. And most of the time the lifeguards will say ok!!

Where's best for a two week stay or they all good. Don't want a spilit stay but don't want somewhere u think I may get fed up off lol

The best one is Jellyrolls, which is a dueling piano bar. It's very fun! Atlantic Dance hall is a dance club, but it's usually really dead and kind of lame and sad. There are tons of bars at Disney Springs, particularly Jock Lindsay's, which is Indiana Jones themed and there is also Trader Sam's which is a very popular bar at the Polynesian. All these places are a fun place to spend a few hours at night.

Gosh, Disney Springs has a lot to do in the evening, as does the Boardwalk. There is a lot to do to keep adults happy and relaxed. It is not a beach vacation though, which is why I like it! LOL!

Yeah she knows it's not a beach place lol sorry mybe I should of worded it better. I love the parks but she doesn't want that for two weeks solid so just finding out all the other stuff we can do for when we are relaxing. I mean can the water parks be relaxing ? I mean she likes to just chill and have a few cocktails some nights, which is fine with me lol. Sounds some nice places to do that

Last time we went to wdw our feet were always sore and as soon as our bus arrived at night we would both be asleep in it and nearly miss our stop lol so this time we are going for longer to make sure it's not like that lol

Yeah, don't do that again! THere is that temptation to pack it all in, but boy do you pay for that!

I can't help with the water parks, but if I was to hazard a guess I would say they are not relaxing. Honestly, I would just look at the evenings or afternoons as the time to relax and get out of the parks. For instance, one of my new favorite spots is the Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk Inn. Have dinner down there somewhere and enjoy a cocktail or two at this Hidden gem. I really did love the atmosphere in the Lounge at the Poly as well. I took the boat from the MK to meet friends for a glass of wine. WE were staying at different resorts and this was a great place to meet "in the middle". I underestimated how nice it was to step into a cool lounge, have a seat at the bar and just relax. It reminded me of some of the bars along our coastline.

I am not familiar with the layout of the resort you are staying at, but my crew breaks in the afternoon and we head to the pool. Sometimes we don't bother to swim, but we do relax on the patio with cocktails. We decided a long time ago to stop looking at any component of the package, but to consider the entire cost as vacation costs. That way we do nto feel compelled to "accomplish" a lot in the parks. We leave when we are ready, and either go to the resort for the afternoon, o we head somewhere for lunch or snacks. WE always head out in teh evening, but most of the time it is not bad to TA park. WE go shopping, have a real relaxing dinner, enjoy evening entertainment.

How do they actually tell if you are using the pool in another resort

I have been in the Contemporary pool before where a lady came around and checked your magic band and asked me to wear a bracelet showing that I was a guest of the hotel.

When are you going? I feel like the water parks are relaxing, but only if you go after Labor Day. And when you say "relaxing" do you mean mellow or just not as strenuous as a park? Because if you want mellow I would suggest going early and only spending a couple hours, if you just want to lay around and don't mind noise any time if fine.

Yes, the water parks can be relaxing. Typhoon Lagoon is beautiful and tropical. We usually go in the lazy river and wave pool and skip the rest of the stuff.

The lifeguards can, and do, make sweeps around the pool asking to see MKs, which they then swipe to make sure the guest is a guest of the resort.

I never wear a magic band at the pool- I hate wearing those on my arms and take it off when I am not needing it in the parks. My kid wears one so that is the room key but I usually leave mine in the room when not needing it.

If you want a relaxing water/beach type park head over to Discovery Cove! If you don't have a car you can Uber there and back.

Like go in lazy pool. Relax in the sun with a cocktail ?

That's doable at Typhoon Lagoon. Can't speak to Blizzard Beach. We're two adults and got to TL at 10am when they opened and only stayed for maybe 3 hours. It did get to be pretty crowded, the loungers are very close together. They do have Cabanas you can rent which may be better for a group.

This is really a great suggestion. We've gone twice as day guests without the dolphin experience and it was beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Food and drinks included (not a full bar but there are beers and frozen cocktails) and SeaWorld and Aquatica admission for 2 weeks I think. IMO Aquatica isn't relaxing so much as Typhoon Lagoon can be, but it is fun!
