Do you use the resort pools a lot? (include time spent there both lounging and swimming) Did you use it more in past years, and now less so? Are you going more now than previously? Why?

We’ve never been big pool users, although I used to use them more when the kids were smaller. Now that the majority are grown up and don’t travel with us, or are old enough to go on their own, we’re less frequent visitors. It’s still pretty important to our youngest teen, but my wife and I didn’t use them at all last trip, even though we had plenty of free time to do so over two weeks. I thought I would use them more as our stays got longer and our free time increased, but we spent most of our free non-park time just walking around when we left the room. So for me, I’d have to vote “Not very”. Maybe my opinion will change again down the road, we’ll see.

Is it too late to change the poll choices? "Somewhat" and "not very" are basically the same response. Need something more in-between "extremely" and "not very" (which is what I would choose)

We live in a 55+ Community and live (float) in our amenities centers pool all summer long. We're pretty much pooled out when we go to WDW. Our Dec/Jan trips to WDW are usually not very pool friendly. Our May/Sept trips we prefer to use our remaining NE+ tickets for a water park. While WDW pools are nice, it's just not a thing or priority for us. Way too many kids, and challenge to find shaded lounge chairs. Still though it's nice to have the option when we feel the urge.

Sorry, I can't edit poll choices once it starts. However, "somewhat" is a synonym of "moderately", whereas "not very" is the same as "not really". So I think "somewhat" really does fall between extremely and not very.

I use the pool all the time when I'm at WDW. I love taking a mid day pool break when the crowds at the parks get insane and even at night I go to the pool for an hour or so. I don't need a fancy pool like Stormalong Bay at Beach Club. On my last trip I stayed at AKL Kidani and found that pool to be wonderful, though a lot of chairs do not have shade. The ones near the hot tub do so I try to grab one near there.

I voted not very, but if you'd asked me 20 years ago I would have said extremely. When our son was little the pool was a big consideration when choosing a hotel - and not just at Disney. We'd take him to these amazing destinations all over the country - heck other countries as well, and yet every day involved pool time. He loved it and we heavily weighed our hotel choice based on that. At Disney it was always the Yacht Club (weren't DVC members at that time) due to Stormalong Bay.

Flash forward, our son is 24 and often not even with us when we travel. Even when he is, he's more concerned with dining and bar options at a hotel than the pool. So things change.

Pool is everything with us. We have been going for so long that we only do half days at best in the parks and then to the pool. My 14 year old doesn’t ride- she’d swim the entire trip. There’s days we don’t even go to parks. So we need a good pool. With a decent slide. So as much as I want to try wilderness lodge, the rest of the family is not having it. We are stuck with poly and kidani. Which I don’t mind at all. Liked beach club too but don’t own there so it’s near impossible at 7 month mark.

My kids like the pool and we go, but we like the parks more. Basic slides like at BLT are enough for my kids and they don't actually like enclosed slides much.

So Cal (former) beach bum here, brah! I get itchy when I’m too far from water, but do prefer the quieter pools, like Boulder Ridge in my advanced (😜) age. Love going for a swim and a ‘cuzzi sesh after a day in the parks.

For me, I'd say "not very" and would be happy with just parks and food, but for my 2 daughters (17 and 3), I'd say "extremely" for both.

So I voted "somewhat".

Extremely for us.

We spend 50% of the time at the pool/resort.

Somewhat for us. My kids are young and enjoy pool time but it is, at most, 2-3 hours a day. They’re totally content just enjoying any pool with a simple pool slide. I thought they would love SAB but they didn’t. They preferred the BCV quiet pool because it wasn’t crowded or loud.

My DD asks for a pool break every day, so we end up taking an afternoon break there. I think that’s pretty frequent use of the pool.

We always use the pools. Last trip we made sure we scheduled in 2 resort days, just to chill and enjoy the pools.😎👍🏻✨💫

We are big mid day pool break people. Pool doesn't have to be elaborate as we usually venture to the quiet pools.

Pool time is extremely important for us. My daughter and I both love being in the water. I doubt I'd own DVC if a pool wasn't part of the resort.

I answered “somewhat” because when our kids were little, the pool mattered (and their favorite was actually Coronado Springs), but in the last 5 or so years, not really at all, and we’ve only just started using pools again during our stay. But we love the WL and AKL, but the pool we want are lazy rivers in all honesty.

Now, if Disney had continued building Reflections, I’d have answered “extremely.” While the lazy river was only one factor in our decision to what to buy there, it was a big factor. If BCV was priced more reasonable, I’d own there just for the pool for when we do heavier resort stays.
