Hi All! We are thinking about booking a reservation at Wilderness Cabins for the Spring and i would love to see some pictures of the pool. I know we wont spend a ton of time there, but we do plan to spend one full day there mid-trip. We LOVED LOVED LOVED the pool at POR last trip and was hoping some upgrades have been made recently.

We stayed at Ft Wilderness in our RV in 2002 but I heard that the pool was redone... The FW pool certainly lacked ambiance and excitement compared to other WDW resorts..

Although I dont have any pictures I can tell you where to look. The Wilderness Pool just reopened after some adjustments to the pool depth (now 3ft all around) and cosmetic. You can see pictures listed under the recent thread "Wilderness Pool". The Meadows Poool was refurbished about two years ago and when they did it they brought over a few artifacts from the closed River Country and added a small slide. Pictures of that would be found in the "Picture of the Day Thread" but you will have to do some scrolling.
If your looking for excitement and ambiance I think you may want to look somewhere else. The Wilderness Pool can be quiet and plain and the Meadows can be congested and hectic.

Excellant picture of the Wilderness Pool. However as I look at it, it appears that the walk in area is gone from what used to be the shallow end. Is there a walk in area.
What my concern is how does an elderly person enter and exit the pool if they do not have arm strength like my mother, this is why we always went to this pool.

the entrance in the shallow end is still the same with the stairs going in, that did not change
