My family and I are throwing a pool party soon, but we have no clue what to do. We're renting the pool from 8pm-10pm. About 45 friends are coming along with my immediate family. Obvioulsy we are going to go swimming, but what else to you recommend? Please! Any thoughts are very appreciated. :goodvibes :cheer2:

We just had a pool party on the 4th of July and we grilled burgers, hot dogs and chicken. I also made some home made baked bean and had coolers of different beers (cans) and a assortment of soda.

Water volleyball or other types of games are also fun. Depending on the size of the pool some floaties and other types of water toys would be good.

Have a great time!

MARCO.....Do I Hear POLO

We just played Sunday, it's my favorite pool game, everytime we have company over everyone has to get in and play!!!!

I'm having one with my GS troop in August. I'm borrowing a s'more maker from my Dsis and making s'mores with the girls. :thumbsup2

Hmm.. try some scavenger hunt in the pool. Here's a fun game you can play:

What you need:
Equal teams
Tape
Scissors
A small notebook and pencil for each team
Dark Felt - optional
Index cards - optional

What to do:
Think of a word or phrase, and then n each team's notebook (you can name the teams) set up the first page like this (without the letters and answer) :

Clues:
You can make the first letter of the answer to the question the letter, or hide felt letters in and around the pool while giving clues about the location. Make sure each team has a different clue. You should write a new clue on every other page of the notebook. :grouphug: At the end, when all the teams have found the letters needed, they will come out of the pool and unscramble the letters. First team to win wins goodie bags or gift certificates. :)
Clue example:
Wee! That was fun! Go to the tallest, most colourful thing in the pool.
( Go to the slide) - Finds letter P -

We hang out a lot at our local pool; they have "games" on holidays. Here are some of the popular ones:

The Noodle Races seem to go over well - you can divide into teams (maybe as many teams as you have noodles), and do relays across. It would be great fun to see adults participating as well as kids.

Hula hoop contest.

Limbo contest.

Belly flop contest. You can make up categories - biggest splash, best form, etc.

Where kids are involved, it's nice to have one "real prize" (e.g. a cheap beach ball, etc.), then a little participation prize for everyone (candy, etc.)

how about a build a boat contest? with cardboard, tape, etc - and see which one floats!
