Can anyone tell me what the odds are of being able to use the pool on our trip? We're going the week after Thanksgiving, Nov. 29 - Dec. 4.

We've been in December several times. There have been moments during those times that we've been cold and in sweatshirts or sweaters, but I'm quite sure we've been swimming on every December trip. No guarantees, but I'd definitely pack my suit!

:) Definitely pack your swim suits...we usually are still wearing shorts in Dec on the Gulf Coast. We always check the weather before and pack for it. I believe the pools are heated. We are going 11/30-12/10 and are hoping to go in the pool.

I think if someone could tell you the odds and be on target they wouldn't be on-line, but playing the odds somewhere and getting rich. We have visited during this time of year and we did swim at Disney and Universal's Portofino Resort. Somedays you swim and other days it is a little too cold, especially in the evening. Some nights you can tour the parks wearing shorts and T-shirt, while other nights bluejeans and sweatshirt with rain, so swimming becomes a hit and miss activity during your stay. Bottom line: best to swim when the sun is up and you need to be flexible to what day you plan on swimming during your stay based upon the weather.

DH & DS swam on Christmas Eve at AKL. DD & I stuck to the hot tub.

We all swam last trip...even my overly whiny niece!! The only time it got a little chilly was after the sun went down when we were going up to the top for the slide, or when we were in the kiddy pool since it doesn't cover you with warm water as much! Other than that it was great!!

We were there for a similar vacation week
Some days the pool water was warmer than the air
It was really enjoyable

We went Thanksgiving week 2008. We stayed at the Contemporary and at any given time, we were the only ones at the pool! We are from Massachusetts and on day one, the weather seemed tropical for us! By the end of our stay, we were cold, and the temps did not drop! We had on sweaters every morning and night. Around 10:30 am, we were able to take the sweaters off, but they were back on by 6:00pm. I dont remember what time the sun went down, but I do remember having a 6:15pm ressie at Le cellier and it was still light out while we waited and waited and waited by the front door! I know y 8 is was dark because we made a mad dash for the CP on the other side of the park.

I had to put leggings and sweaters on my daughter every day, even under her dresses! As you can see, I was not prepared for that and she wore the same sweater a lot!!

We go from Dec.24-Jan1 and always make it in the pool so almost 25 days earlier is a given...enjoy...:rotfl:

We were at Disney Dec 09 from the 12th-16th and it was in the 80's. We met up with our friends son who was working in the college program and he said the week before we were there was cold and he was working with gloves on. You really won't know till it gets closer to your trip but I would definetly pack bathing suits. I planned for cold and warm weather and waited till a couple days before to decide what to put in or take out of my case. The resorts do have laundry rooms in case you don't have enough warmer or cooler clothes. I try to pack layers. Enjoy your trip its a nice time to go to Disney the holiday decorations are beautiful! Linda :)

I've been to WDW in every month except February so far. I figured we would be able to swim comfortably in late Oct. Well...swimming wasn't the issue. Getting out of the pool was the issue!! Water was terrific, air..not so much. Same thing in Nov and Dec. Getting in isn't an issue. But when you get out, the air is sometimes really, really chilly. Best to wrap up quickly!! But, you can hit some pretty warm weather...then, it's a win-win situation.

We were there the 2nd-9th of December 2009 (just 9 months ago) and there were 2 days that were chilly/cold. One day it rained (the chilly day) and the day after it was cold. However, the rest of our trip it was in the mid-80's and definitely swimming weather. We all enjoyed the pool at the Poly a few times. The weather will most likely be warm enough for you to swim. Definitely take your suits.

Lived in Orlando for a couple of years. When people asked me what type of weather they should expect in the winter I answer all, It won't be cold by northern standards, but it might be too cold to swim, or it might be warm enough that you want that break in the pool. But the odds are that you will be able to get into (and out of) the pool confortably during your trip, maybe not every day though.

I have been going the same week almost every year, since 2000.

The first several years, it was consistently in the low 80's during the day and in the high 60's at night. One year, it almost got up to 90 every day. It was actually almost too humid.

The last three years, it has been chilly almost every night to use the pool and downright cold some nights, enough for me to put on a sweatshirt which is unusual for me.
