I am going to Caribbean beach,my parents are staying at kidani village AK and my brother at beach club. Can we swim at each others resorts?

You have to be a registered guest at the resort to swim at the resort. This topic is sore to people,(not to me though :) )

Not entirely true.... We have stayed at Beach Club and spoke with Front desk. In which they provided a visitors pass for my brother, his wife, and my niece. They were staying at pop at the time. This may have been unusual practice, however it doesn't hurt to ask.

This is not usual practice. Perhaps it was during slow season.

Honestly if u are a paying guest at a resort and so are ur family members why would it be a big issue?

I can understand if family wasn't paying to stay onWDW property but if they are why would it be a big deal?

Because each resort is separate from all of the others. You are paying for a say at a particular resort, and you are only allowed to use the amenities of that specific resort. Disney's rules.

If you want to all swim together you either need to stay at the same resort, or spend a day at one of the waterparks.

Because, they're not paying to stay there. The pools have a capacity limit. Beach Club's pool is tight as is with the Yacht, Beach Club and Villas. If they start letting people in from other resorts, it becomes overcrowded.

Its frustrating when you pay BIG money to stay at Deluxe resorts and cant get a chair by the pool or the beach and you know there are "visitors"

What happened at the Poly 4th of July was ridiculous and I would have spoken to management! The resort was over run with visitors, the whole beach was covered with ppl, ppl who were carrying chairs from ppl patios, from the pool. It caused horrendous lines at the Capt Cooks..

While I frequent resorts to eat or shop (like GF) I dont understand why ppl (not you OP you have family at resorts) dont just book the resort they want to swim at?

while I normally have an issue with visitors swimming if you get permission from the resort thats totally different but that is VERY rare.. Especially in summer, spring or christmas seasons..

The only thing Disney has a rule against visitors using are the pools. Visitors are free to hang out on the beaches and eat at the restaurants. Lifeguards should definitely be asking for IDs for those people at the pool, but the beaches are fair game for anyone to use. Disney doesn't say only guests of the resort can use the beach chairs or be on the beach.

If you are paying $150 a night to stay at CBR with their far less engaging pool, why would it be okay to use the pool attached to the room costing several hundred per night? Deluxe prices are higher because of the higher and better amenities... You can't pay less but benefit from the more expensive luxuries.

If you ask and and they give you a pass, feel free. But I wouldn't expect it.

I am just trying to spend some time with my family not trying to win one over on Disney! I have stayed at Ak villas before with my parents personally I like CB pool and am happy with their amenities. Didn't expect people to be so

Well while that may be true Disney WAS trying to stop the crowds at the Poly beach, the guards were told not to allow anyone in that wasn't staying there it have dinner reservations, they even had CM trying to check at the monorail platform.. So obviously they don't want this to happen..

That must be because it was a holiday. Any other time guests are welcome to visit other resorts, as long as they stay out of the pool.

Though I have to wonder if they were being as vigilant as you say, how the place was so crowded with visitors. Sounds more like they were making some small attempt at it to try and placate those staying at the Poly. But not putting much effort into it.:rolleyes2Just enough effort so they could claim they were doing something.

There is actually a permanent thread about this on the resorts main board. It is the 4th one down. You may want to go peek at it. It is there because this subject gets so heated. The moderators usually lock all other threads on pool hopping because this subject can get so out of hand. The must just have not noticed this one yet.

No. There are signs at each pool stating that the pool is for the use of that particular resort's guests only. On threads like this, someone usually comes along, posting a picture of one of those signs. It will say something like, 'This pool is for guests of the Caribbean Resort only'. Anyway, it specifies the resort's name. Life Guards are supposed to periodically check people's room keys to make sure they are guests of that particular resort. I know I have had to show my room key at WL, BW, and YC. The time we had to show it at WL, my son had taken my grand daughter to the pool, while I was doing laundry in the laundry room, so did not bother to take their room keys. When the lifeguards started asking for room keys, he explained and was told he had to show a room key or leave. He came and got me out of the laundry room and I went out to show my key. That was not good enough. The lifeguard said that just because I was staying there did not mean my son and grand daughter were. I left them downstairs, while I went up to the room to get their keys. When I got back, my grand daughter told me I had missed all the excitement and that two families got kicked out. One of the them had apparently came over from Ft Wilderness campground and threw a fit, yelling that as much as he had paid for this vacation that he could swim wherever he d-mn well pleased and demanded a manager be called and an apology issued. A manager came all right, but supported his life guards. The family was told to leave, or they would be escorted out.

Edited to add picture: Here's a picture of one of the pool signs, but they all have basically the same sign at each pool, only the resort name is changed:

I don't think you're trying to win one over on Disney. You had stated that if someone was staying at the resort you didn't see the issue with non guests coming to join them. The issue is that you didn't pay the room costs that come with those amenities.

Having stayed there before Im sure you can understand why the rule is in place. If you couldn't find a chair, or the pool was overly crowded because everyone's family staying at other resorts came to hang out you'd probably be a bit miffed that people paying half the cost were getting to use the luxuries you paid a premium rate for. I imagine you've also seen the signs such as the one posted above.
