We will be staying at the Grand Cali, but was wondering if it is okay to use the pools in the other Disney resorts? I'm guessing it's a no, but just wondering. We have small kids and thought they might like the water area at the DLH. I wouldn't mind paying for a day of play there if that is an option.

Thanks!

I think you can if you pay for the cabana rental you can. But otherwise, no.

I called the Grand Californian because I was wondering the same thing and they don't allow pool hopping. The only time that they allow it, is if the pool at the hotel you are staying at, is under construction, or unusable or something like that.

I'm pretty sure the pool areas require a room key to enter, too.

It is technically not allowed- even if you are willing to break the rules- it'd be hard to get in as all of the pools require keys to enter and the DLH water slide area sometimes even has a CM stationed at the entrance

No, pool hopping is not allowed, unless your hotel pool is closed and then they only allow you to hop to one of the two open hotel pools. You don't get to chose, they just tell you which one you can use.

Can you rent a cabana at DLH if you are staying at GCH? I had heard you could, thus you would be able to use the pool.

You need a room key to open the gates to the pool, but someone is ALWAYS going in or out... if you catch my drift. ;)

Here is a good one for the Mac Family. Cheaters never prosper. If you catch my drift.

I realize you are new to the boards, suggesting breaking the law of rules of Disney is not allowed.

What is the official policy? Keep reading the quote from dl.com

"Can I use the services of the other Hotels, although I am not staying at that specific Hotel?

The restaurants at all 3 Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are open to everyone.

However, all other services at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are exclusive to the hotel a Guest is staying at with the following exceptions:

•If there is a closure or other situation whereby a Guest or Guests have been granted access to services at hotels not specific to where they are staying, they will be duly notified of the temporary policy change."

There are a couple other exceptions but they don't relate to the pools.

Calm down, chief. My comment was made in jest, hence the little winky dude at the end of my post. ;) I didn't take into account that the DISboard police would be called into action over an obvious joke. I assumed any rational reader would've picked up on that... but you know what they say when you assume... (I won't say what that is, because I'd have to use an obscenity, and that's against the rules and I've already been 'flagged')

If this is the typical reaction given to whimsical comments, I may look elsewhere for Disneyland discussion groups, because I love to crack jokes here and there.

But hey, thanks for the debrief on Hotel Policies. And to the OP, stick to your own pool. Save the other hotel's pool for another trip.

Wow seriously? It's not as if MacFamily said "rob the hotel, steal the goods, and don't look back". I think that was a bit dramatic.

It seems like all three of you are relatively new posters, so I will defend skiingfast, one of the board's regulars, by saying that I didn't take macfamily's comment as a joke, "winky face" or not. I got the distinct impression that the post was encouraging the OP to just sneak into the pool. I'm fine with jokes and sarcasm, and we have plenty of that on the boards, but when you're a new poster, we don't know your personality and I took it as encouraging a violation in Disney policy.

It is worth mentioning, since you are new posters, that the DISboards takes posts that encourage violating Disney policies very seriously and threads doing such are typically closed swiftly and posters making such comments can receive warnings or other repercussions. You can read all of that in the terms and conditions that each poster agrees to when joining the boards. You can find those here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm/

I think the answer to the OP's question has been answered, so I will go ahead and close this thread.

skiingfast and sonnyjane are correct, by the way.:goodvibes
