when we are home in August we staying at AKV Kidani so will sample the new pool area..have also been to Jambo and POFQ last year (non DVC)..can someone confirm what the DVC perk for pool hopping is actually for..is it for every resort pool or only DVC property?..if its for every..which you would you recommend for sampling?

No pool hopping permitted to Stormalong Bay at YC/BC or to AKL. If you are actually staying at AKL you can use the pool there. This applies to the Jambo pool. No idea about Kidani.

Other than that, unless it's prohibited in peak season or because the pool is too crowded, you may hop to any pool at WDW resorts.

We will also be there in August and plan on pool hopping. Last May we pool hopped to the Poly, & Coronado Springs. We went to Poly the day we were at MK and to CS the day we went to HS. We had no trouble at either, but I did have my member card with me if we were asked. We went into the locker rooms poolside and changed out of our street clothes and swam. It was a great way to break up our days. We plan on doing the same as long as there is no black out dates during that time. I will ask at the desk when we check in.:goodvibes

Check out the pools at the moderate resorts - IMHO, the mods got better pools and quick service dining than the deluxes.

AT POR - there are two theme pools - the riverside pool has an incredible shaded deck area/pool bar, fun food court (with beignets) and cane pole fishing and the french quarter pool has a really neat slide - you can hop between the pools via a walkway along the canal or via. ferry.

CS has an incredible food court and the best playground at Disney. The pool features a giant Mayan temple waterfall and jungle-cruise-esque wild animals along the slide path.

Members can't hop to any YC/BC/BCV pool, not just SAB.

Also there is some language about they reserve the right to suspend any pool hopping privileges. This in my experience is when things are busy they don't want a bunch of visitors.

As far as Jambo House and Kidana village, it seems DVC are free to use either pool. Not sure if it's going to be reciprocal to CRO guests at Jambo.

We were ar SSR and went to the Contemporary to swim we stopped at the desk to ask like it said and they had no clue about it. She got the manager and he told DH he's never heard of such a thing but no one would care, go ahead. I had just taken the portable perk thing out of my bag or I could have showed the guy. We swam and it was fine no one asked anything. If you go be sure you have your DVC card and your portable perk thing.
