Would someone give me the lowdown on visitng other pools? We will be spending 3 nights at WLV and 4 nights at AKLV. The kids don't really care (teens, ) but I would love to spend a day by the Floridian pool or?????. So what's the legal procedure and what are the recommendations?????

DVC Members who are staying at DVC Resorts on points are allowed to pool hop to the other WDW resorts, except for AKL and Stormalong Bay.

There are blackout periods during the year, usually the weeks before and after holidays. You can contact the Resort hotel desk to see if you can pool hop that particular day and if so, just present your Blue DVC Membership ID Card and KTTW card together.

Just remember to have your room key and DVC member ID and you will be fine pool hopping anywhere, except BCV or AKV. You can not pool hop to these resorts. Also, there are black out dates around most holidays and spring break time.

We did pool hopping for the first time last year at the Grand Floridian. It was the first part of March. and there wasn't many people there. We brought our room card and member card, but no one asked to see them. We only used the main pool. Felt kind of guilty using the fancy pool with the waterfall located on the beach. There was more people at that pool and signs that said for GF use only.

Maybe this year we will give it a try. Worst that can happen is that they will ask us to leave.

Can anyone recommend other favorite pools we might try?

We plan to pool hop at the Poly volcano pool the day we go to the Kona Kafe for tonga toast lol. I think we're gonna try and go to another place during the week too with the Mexican pyramid pool I forget the reort name.:confused3

I think you're talking about Coronado Springs. :thumbsup2

from DVC website

' the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that Resort hotel. Please check with a Host/Hostess at the Front Desk of the Resort hotel you wish to visit to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current "Key to the World" card with your Disney Vacation Club "Member" designation on it to use other Resort hotel pools.'

so we still have to check with the front desk first.

I have never checked with the front desk but have always had my KTTWC and DVC Card. Might be that I go at non-peak times, since it is never an issue.

We like to Pool Hop to Poly and then stay for Wishes.

We only did it once back in 2001. I called the resort we were going to prior to going (as per the DVC instructions) and the CM I talked to did not have a clue what I was asking about. So, we went. But that was the only time we did it.
