Can you use the other pools at the onsite hotels or is a giant nono like at WDW?? Also, are all the hotels within walking distance to each other if we want to just visit and look around? (we are at HRH) Thanks

Good question. I think it's discouraged, but I don't know for sure. Anyone else?

:woohoo: :dance3:

We stayed at the HRH and we were actually told to go check other hotels out...we had no time to go, but they actually encouraged it.
I think you just need to bring your room key along with you just to make sure you're actually staying on site from what I understand.
You can also eat at any hotel and use Portafinos (sp?) spa.

If you are staying on-site you may use any pool at any of the three resorts. You can walk, but you can also use the boat service to and from resorts.

Pool hoping is encouraged.

The HRH is the "hip" pool and it's in the middle. The walk from the PBH to the HRH is 8 minutes. The walk from the RPR to the HRH is about 15 minutes.

The thing about taking the boat rides, is you'd have to stop at Citywalk, switch boats, and keep going. That could take half an hour.

As Robvia said, it is a giant Yes Yes (not a nono like Disney).

Just show your room key card at the towel station to get your towels.

You can also rent cabanas at any pool, no matter which resort you are staying at.

Have fun!

Yes, we pool hopped at all 3 pools when we stayed at Portofino. We also rented a cabana at HRH for the Dive In movie night!!

ABSOLUTELY! GO TO ALL THE POOLS AND HAVE FUN! i love this about universal. disney frowns on it but when i booked with universal i was told to make certain that i check out all the pools. i have done this three times now and it is easy to get around. last trip i finally figured out that it was easier to cross the road in front of PBH to get to HRH instead of using the path. from RPR to any of them we just hopped the water taxi to citywalk and either walked or hopped another boat if it was there.

pool hopping is encouraged.

i know this for a fact.

you will always be treated like a special guest at any of the pools if you are staying on site.

Do you recall how long the walk and/or boat ride is from RPR to HRH? Does the boat go direct from hotel to hotel? Also, they supply towels at each pool so we wouldn't have to carry them around, right? We've never stayed on-site at US so I'm picturing long waits and boat rides like the ferry to MK. From the view I had at our last park visit, I think the water was much smaller than Seven Seas Lagoon. Is this right? Thanks!

We were also told that we could visit all the pools . We haven't gone yet so I have another question---------- The day we check out --does anyone know if later in the afternoon we could use the pool to cool off after we have already checked out? Or once you check out are you checked out of all amenities? :confused3

The reason I ask is I was also told that our room key would be good the day we check out for FOTL so I thought it might also buy us a dip later in the day?

OhioTony,

We just got back on Thursday from 4 days @ RPR. Our flight home was not untill 6:30pm. On our check out day I called to get a 'late' checkout (just in case) and they said we would have access to our rooms till 12:30pm. Well, we got our stuff together, brought it down to the Luggage check around 9:00am and headed to the parks. We ended up leaving the parks and coming back to RPR about 1:00pm. I was a little bummed we missed getting into our room. We went to the luggage service desk and got our suits out of our packed bags and headed to the pool for about 3 hours till we had to get our ride back to the airport. (We used the gym to get changed and shower up after) It was encouraged to stay all day if possible. The last few hours at the resort were relaxing and I recommend this to anyone with a late flight. We were on the plane refreshed and content we got 'everything' out of our stay!

I forgot to add that I never really 'checked out' till 4:00pm or so when I got back from the pool and asked for our copy of the charges to the room. We could also continue to use the room charge at the pool bar the whole afternoon.

you have to switch boats once the boat from rph docks and lets the guests off in the city walk area.
the boat to hrh goes in the opposite direction of rph.

you catch any of the three boats in the same area, it is marked which boat goes to which hotel
