We would like to pool hop this coming May and we are new DVC members. What pools should we hop to, what are your favorite pools at Disney and why. I know we can't hop to BCV and we are staying at AKV. I have 4 kids age 11, 9, 6, 6.

While I personally am not a "pool person", I've heard the slide at OKW is good, and you could try Olivia's for a nice relaxing sit down lunch while you're at OKW.

SSR has a zero entry pool, so that may be of benefit for your 6 year olds.

Pop has themed pools, but they are often crowded. Plus you'd need to bring your own towels, value resorts don't supply pool towels.

Those are the only pools I've really even looked at while walking by, except for BCV, but you can't hop there, of course.

The clown pool at BWV is a must for pool hopping for us. I never thought I would hop. But now that we have, we go there everytime! We stay at SSR and kids like that pool, but love slide at BWV. Have fun!

The Dig Site at Coronado Springs is a fun pool. And your kids would like the Jaguar slide.

As long as you aren't going for Memorial Day time frame, you will be able to pool hop in May. Also, not only is Stormalong Bay pool hopping closed to members, all of the pools at YC/BC/BCV are closed to pool hopping.

We just got home from OKW and our DD 11 and Neice 13 loved the pool at OKW. POR French quarter seems to have a nice pool too though we have only seen it not swam in it. Have a great trip:goodvibes

If it were me, I'd say none. Why deal with the hassle of getting 4 kids loaded up, in the car, etc. when you've got a great pool right there?

Even if I were hopping, I'd want to factor the hassle factor into my choice. The Poly may have a great pool, but it can be a pain to get to, in and around. So I'd put that low on my list, unless I was going to be there anyway - in which case it would just to the top of my list.

CSR would probably be my first overall choice. Nice pool with big slide, and somewhat easy transportation wise.

It is okay to pool hop to non DVC resorts? I though it was only the DVC resorts:confused3

Where's the "stay at home" option LOL?

I have never understood the appeal of hauling all my stuff to another pool (unless it was SAB and that one is off limits)

I looked for the "None" option, too. People often stay at specific resorts because of pools. I'm not gonna go horn in on their pool usage.

We hopped last year to the Poly pool. We chose the Poly because it was our last day of vacation (we were flying out that night) and we spent the morning at the MK. So we hopped to a MK resort for the afternoon. The Poly pool was very nice, but I wouldn't do it again unless there were similar circumstances at play. We have other things that fill our time at WDW than spending a day by another resort's pool.

However, if the idea is to drive to another resort to play in the pool POR/PO gives you two pools within walking distance of each other, both are fun pools. What are your criteria for a pool - pool slide? fast pool slide? easy slide? zero entry? Great pool bar?

No problem to hop to non-DVC pool except for YC/BC pools. Plus you can't hop to non-Disney pools like the Swan/Dolphin pools.

We had a great time hopping to POR. Breakfast at Boatwrights and then swimming! The DGC were 2, 3 and 4.

That's the same one I'm looking for.

We have never pool-hopped. If want to swim somewhere...we stay at that resort. Too much trouble to pack up & go somewhere.

We are trying to make this trip a little more relaxing, more pool time/less park time. I was wondering if anyone has taken a midday break at the nearest pool to the park they are at? We are thinking of taking a midday break at CSR, eat at Pepper Market, take a quick swim then head back to HS.

I was glad to see I'm not the only one....I too was looking for the 'STAY AT HOME" option. :thumbsup2
