pool hopping question

I'm planning to rent points for BWV but would like to pool hop to stormalong bay? Can this be done as a renter (non-DVC member-at this time!) ? Travel dates 12/1- 12/6.

Just be sure to call over to the Beach Club to be sure the pool is not at capacity. You are welcome to hop as a guest of a DVC member to any of the Resort's pools except the Resort at the Animal Kingdom...just call ahead.

I did not realize DVC members or their guests were allowed to pool hop--that is very convenient. Why not at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

When AKL opened, the pool was not included as a pool for hopping for DVC members. No explanation was given, just the statement of fact.

According to the DVC member guidelines, if a DVC member accepts $$$ for the points, their "guests" are not entitled to DVC benefits/perks, which includes pool hopping. However, most report that this rule is not widely followed or enforced. If your resort ID says "DVC Member", you will probably be allowed to pool hop. For the time you plan to go, it is unlikely that there will be any capacity problems, but as Gary mentioned, you should call over to the resort ahead of time to make sure.

That said, I hope that you already have your BWV reservation or have a back up plan. The dates you listed are very popular with DVC members and my understanding was that the first part of December booked up very quickly. Some members reported that they are on the waitlist for this time. I don't know if there is still a waitlist and of course, sometimes you just get lucky.

The first week in December is a great time to go. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
