Pool Hopping Question

Yes, but why would you want to pass up the great new slide at OKW? BWV has 2 pools, and OKW has 4. If you are NOT a member, you might not be allowed to pool hop. You must call the front desk to ask if it is being allowed on that day (crowds can make pool hopping be suspended), and sometimes they ask for the blue membership card instead of just the room key that says "member".

You don't mention the dates in May, but isn't there usually a black out of pool hopping around Memorial Day.

one of our favorite DVC perks.....we love swimming at the Polynesian and the Contemporary....sadly Stormalong Bay is off limits these days.

We are staying at OKW this year (1st week in May), as guests, not members. Just a question, because I don't know (flamesuit coming on). Are we allowed to go over to the Polynesian pool? Our DD loves that pool and their slide! Please, be nice now.

If you are not a member or staying with a member, you are not eligible to pool hop to any other resort than that at which you are staying. Sorry.

Technically, you can't. Your key card will say "DVC Member" if you are which is what the guards at the gate will see if they choose to. On occasion, we have been asked at the gate and again when we were getting towels. (We are DVC Members, by the way) It's possible that you can slip by but it can also be a frustrating (and embarrassing) ordeal to go all the way to the Polynesian to be turned away at the pool because you're not supposed to be there. And I think that's the thing to keep in mind. Disney does have a valid interest in not having their pools clogged up by people who aren't staying at their resorts so they have procedures in place to implement in case they need them. If the resort in half empty, you can probably pull it off. But there is the honesty issue floating around, but as daddy used to say, "that's a whole 'nother issue....."
