Pool hopping in Dec???

We will be arriving on the 15th, when do they normally start resticting pool hopping during the holidays? Next, if they say restrict from the 15th-Jan 2, can I call to see if we can pool hop? From what I gather they don't seem to get crowded until the weekend prior to Christmas which will be the 20th.

Holiday Season for 2002 is 12/20-12/31. My guess is that pool hopping restrictions will be similar. If they put up a "No Pool Hopping" restriction I don't think calling will do much good. They'll probably just cite the policy in effect. Keep in mind that some folks have speculated that SAB "may" come off the pool hopping list once BCV opens.

Recently, DVC has been announcing dates when pool hopping is NOT allowed- whether you call or not. Any dates not included in the restriction will still require a confirmation by the resort to make sure hopping is allowed on that day.

The typical excluded dates have been the week before and after Easter, the week of July 4th and the week around Christmas. In addition, the pool staff has the right to exclude any other days they deem as too crowded.

I realize it is still a bit nebulous and does allow for inconsistency in the way it is handled, but the DVC policy is certainly affected by the staff at the pools in question.

Just call before you go and get the name of the person who confirms that the pool is available- at least then you have a name to "drop" if challenged at the pool.

Thanks Pam and Doc.

I was thinking of using the Poly pool not SAB. We like to eat at the Kona Cafe and my kids love the new volcano pool. Although we have used SAB and granted its a great pool; I find it hard to keep up with my kids and that makes me nervous.

I will just call and check when we arrive!!!
