DD(6) & I are staying at OKW for a week in July for a big dance competition next door at the Wyndham. She only will have 4 dances (at 3 minutes a piece, it hardly seems worth it, huh?!), so we'll have a lot of time to have some fun together. We'll probably hit the parks only 2 times, as it's just too hot and too busy, so i was thinking of doing some pool hopping, in addition to enjoying the new slide at OKW. What are your favorites that we could combine with a decent dinner? (I know we need to call in advance to make sure they are open to hopping.)

I'm kind of excited for the good one-on-one time we'll get - doesn't seem to happen very often, so I want to make the most of some relaxation and fun together!

I'm sure I"m in the minority, but my favorite is the Contemporary.

It seems less crowded. Wide open spaces with a lake view. The slide is decent but not themed. And we like to rent the boats at the marina, which is right there.

Sounds like fun! We hopped to the Poly and the kids loved the volcano pool. It has a great view and a lake beach. Zero entry as well - very realxing for the adults! We took a bus to Magic Kingdom and then rode the Monorail to the Poly, the kids loved being able to ride a 'ride' on their day off the parks too!!! It only took maybe 30 minutes to get there - probably less.
We also really liked the Boarwalk pool - but they didn't like how bumpy the slide was on their backs and it was more crowded than the Poly. Getting there was a bit more difficult. Had to take a bus to a EPCOT and then a bus to the resort - or something like that! Can't remember....
The SSR pool was very nice - the slide was fun and they also have zero entry. It was a short boat ride from OKW, the kids really like riding the boats on the canals. I don't know if a boat still connects the two, though, now that the construction at the main pool at OKW is done.
I hear the new OKW slide is awesome - can't wait to try that one! It was under construction when we were there. We haven't been there yet, but I hear the pool at the Coronado is amazing (Mayan temple slide), so that could be a good one as well!
Have fun!

Don't forget that June 27-July 4 are blacked out for pool hopping......hopefully, your trip is later in the month.

Port Orleans French Quarter and the Dragon slide. fun, fun, fun :wizard:

Next fave is BW

I would have to say that the OKW slide is superb! My DD (7) and her friends loved it when we were there just last week. The pool does get busy and once you are down the slide, you better watch out cause someone else will be coming down fast! There is plenty to eat at OKW too. I enjoy Olivia's and even just getting food at the Good's to Go and eating at the picnic tables near the dock is nice setting.
We pool hopped over to SSR that week. The slide again is great! Seems bigger pool but it is less crowded too. It does have a small slide as well. Watch out for the hot concrete around the pool in July! OUCH! Bring pool shoes that can get wet. We did hear that they are putting in water mist-ers to water down the area to keep cooler in summer. I really love the Artist's Palette for a bite to eat. Take it to go and back down to the pool. No sit down dinner here but we hope down the road.
Hope this helps!

DS is 5 and his favorite is the pool at the Poly. He loves the volcano slide. He likes it better than SAB (but SAB was partially closed for refurb when we went in Dec)
