I never really thought about this, but if you go pool hopping can you drive to another resort and park there to use the pool?

Yes, just show your KTTW card, if that doesn't get you a welcome home, then you will need to show a picture ID and explain what you are doing.

Hint, remove your parking pass from your dashboard before you enter the resort or you will confuse the security guard. :goodvibes

We just hop a bus to downtown disney, than hop on the resort bus we want to try thier pool.

DVC Members are supposed to call the resort for poolhopping permission prior to going to the pool to make sure they are not at capacity at that time. This is whether you drive or use Disney transportation.

I am a rule-follower and have no problem with this requirement. However, I've found that likely as not the person with whom you speak when you call the other resort may have no clue about the current capacity at the pool, and frequently is unaware of "pool hopping" altogether if it's a non-DVC resort you're calling.

That's because when you call a resort, you are actually talking to a rep at the inbound call center in Tampa.

The one time we pool-hopped (to CSR), we gave the security person whatever ID they needed, and told them we were there to enjoy the resort. It didn't seem to confuse them that we had our OKW parking permit up.

And the one time I pool hopped, it was off season, early December last year. I had my OKW pass in the window, and drove to Boardwalk Villas. The guard let me in, no problem.
But I was also let in to both AKV and OKW while waiting for the closing on my DVC purchase. I told them I'm a new member, and want to look around. I was let in after showing picture ID.

How did I miss this thread? I skim this board every evening.

Anyway, my specific pool hopping parking question is:

Can I park at the Poly at 8:00 am - go to Epcot till noon - then come back to the Poly to eat a lunch and swim?

we are staying at VWL and driving over to the Poly seemed easier than 2 ferrys or a boat & a train

Well now, you are allowed to pool hop and you aren't trying to skip out on paying for parking since it would be free because you're staying at a WDW resort so, it should be ok. The problem could be if you're going during a busy time and parking would be tight for resort guests.

No you should not park at the poly all day unless you are at the poly. Just drive to EPCOT then move your car when you go to the poly.

The parking is for resort guest and those with business at the resorts not for visiting another park. You could park at the TTC close to the Poly.

just have your drivers license out and ready - they don't always even ask why i am there - sometimes they do - so shopping (and believe me I shop at the WDW hotels) works if they ask.

now for me pool hopping is a lot of trouble because of the wet bathing suits after - can't sit out in the sun to dry - have a problem with the sun... don't have enough balance to change into my clothes in the bathroom area. so unless the resort is nearby - forget it.

I called WDW-PLAY to ask about boat rentals and horse back riding at Ft. Wild.

I also ask her if I could park at Poly to use the pool since I was DVC & she said yes. You can park at any other resort as long as your current resort parking pass is valid.

But it wouldn't be the 1st time I've received contradictory info from CMs.

As long as you are at the resort you are visiting that is fine. The problem is leaving it at a resort you are not registered in and going to a park.
