You'll probably have to be in the Formosa Gardens area or north on 27 near the intersection with 192. But I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor in which home to chose. Although you may see a few of the highest starbursts, it's only going to last for a few minutes in the evening. It's not even that exciting to see from that distance. You have to be there to experience the fireworks and the music to really appreciate it. We've seen the fireworks from west 192 and it's not that exciting.
If you find a home you really like look more at the amenities that will entertain you the whole day like games room, electronics:tv,dvd,ps2 etc, and nice pool.
Good luck. :)

I second that. Formosa gardens will only let you maybe see really high ones. We were across the street at indian creek. Loved the house and the price. Windsor hills say fireworks view. But again who really knows to what length.

I think you can see them somewhat ok from the Windsor Hills condos that are higher up. You can hear them from our townhome there, but that's about it. I think the whole "fireworks view" amenity is overrated personally, I agree with the other posters that they aren't really all that great from a distance like this, to really see them well you need to be there in person, up close, with the music and all.

We were at California Grill atop the Contemporary last trip, and the MK fireworks "Wishes" are great from up there, for instance, because they dim the lights and pipe in the music. Then we saw the Epcot ones going off...big disappointment, it's just not nearly the same atmosphere if you're not there, and we had a much better view and vantage point than you probably would from most pool homes.

Focus on finding an awesome home with great amenities and go see the fireworks up close is our recommendation!

Ditto on not having the fireworks view. They are so far away, it is not worth it. I wouldn't even consider that an amenity - just a marketing gimmick.

We stayed in a condo at Windsor Hills last year (3rd floor) and were told we could sit on the balcony to see the fireworks. We managed to see the odd one here or there, but it was NOTHING like seeing it at WDW (which we saw for the very first time in March as the kids were able to stay awake this year!!). So like someone above said, it really is a gimmick I think. If I couldn't see it from the balcony of a condo, I hardly think you'd see them from ground level. Now, we were looking for a pool home ourselves for next year and some of the ones on 27 North were claiming you could see them, but again, who knows if it is really that good :confused3 !! I wouldn't rest my decision on this one factor alone, because you will probably be disappointed.

It depends where on Hwy 27 they are. It gets hilly the farther north you go toward Clermont, and from the top of some of the hills, you can see the fireworks at MK pretty well. From where we live (about 10 miles as a crow flies from WDW), I can see them, and it's pretty cool to watch the special fireworks around the holidays without fighting the crowds. But it's definitely not the same as being there.
