Pool heating

Hi

Been to Orlando in july/august and the pool had solar heating. Possibly going to a villa without solar heating july/august next year, would you recommend paying for heating for the pool and spa. Had heard without heating the pool is too cool to use first thing.

Had unheated pool twice in October. Was a bit cool sometimes though the kids never seemed to mind! I would have thought you'd be fine in August - I think it was quite a bit extra to pay for heating!

I never used to have heating in July or August. It's expensive to heat a pool, and with fuel costs rising i's likely to get more so.

You shouldn't need heating in July/August.

We have just had pool heating for the first time on our April/May holiday and to be honest we didn't think the pool was that warm.
Although children aren't affected, my little boy loves it whatever the temperature.

The direction the pool faces can have an impact , if the pool is South Facing it gets the sun all day and can help to keep the water that little bit warmer.

I'd always understood solar heating (at least in relation to pools in Florida) to mean no heating (i.e. heated naturally by the sun, rather than by solar panels), so unless it's indoors it's likely that your pool <i>will</i> have solar heating. If you found it OK last time, it should be OK next time.

We have never had to have the pool heated July/August. You will find the weather so hot and humid the pool is a welcome relief.
