Hi all

I am looking at villa in October from 20th for 12 nights and the owner says the pool heating is solar , I am wandering is that good enough to heat a pool properly this time of year or should I be looking for a villa with gas or electric heating

We've never stayed in a villa with solar heating, but if I had a question like this I would either be asking the owner directly or looking online for some information before booking.
For me it would be too much of an issue in the build up worrying if the pool was going to be too cold to have fun in.

In general is solar powering a misnomer as you don't need actual sunshine for it to work, solar panels work on uv light not actual ******s so a solar panel will work even if it's clody. In general it just takes a bit longer to utilize the full power effect of solar power on cloudy days than on sunny days.
That beeing said during my october trip a few years ago it was both plenty warm enough and sunny enough for bathing and such and as far as I know the weather in florida is generaly pretty warm that time of the year.

We've been in October/November and chose to have the pool heat in the villa switched on. If you are splashing about and playing then it will probably be ok to go without, but if it has a jacuzzi that you plan on utilising - especially in the evenings - then I would want to know that the heating is on and up to the job.
