Just wondering if any of the pools at Grand Californian and Aulani are good for laps. ds is trying to stay in shape for an upcoming triathlon.

Thanks

Aulani pool but we saw must of the people working out swimming in the lagoon as it's calm waters and plenty of room

The Aulani lagoon would be great for training. It may be an issue later in the day with dodging snorkelers, but in the morning I saw a number of people swimming laps back and forth across it. It would be tough swimming laps at GCV unless you were up very early.

If you got there early in the morning you could probably swim laps around the lazy river at Aulani. Maybe go agains the current for extra workout. It is shallow but you can swim it, a lot of people do since the current is so slow. I don't remember seeing too many people in there around 7am. I would say by 9am it is pretty crowded. Of course, I am not really sure of the "opening" times.

@ Aulani I would suggest either the lagoon or the wailana (quiet) pool to swim laps. Either one you'd have to arrive early but from what I've seen in others who are ''training'' they always begin as soon as they can anyway. The pools at Aulani, including the lazy river as the poster above mentioned, do not open until 8:00 in the morning. The lagoon you can go out as early as you want to swim there. With the Wailana pool the crowds are usually very minimal, and only a few people are in there at a time. It's also a long pool which would be more ideal than the main pool for lapping.
