In the hopes that this saves someone else from a similar pull-your-hair-out-and-scream experience, poolside cabanas can be rented 60+10 days out...just like your dining reservations. Not 60 days from the date you actually want to rent the cabana. Sound obvious? FRIENDS, IT IS NOT.

Here's the email I just sent to guest services and am not sure what, if anything, they can do but someone called me last time so hopefully I get another call.

"Hello, Someone was kind enough to call me after my previous email about the cabana reservation website info page not indicating that you had to wait until 60 days out to make a reservation, so I waited on the phone for 3+ hours to be told that I was too early.

When she called me, she apologized and said since I was checking into the Grand Floridian on June 27th, I could make my cabana reservations at the 60 day mark from my check-in time, which was 6/28. I called on that day - and after being on hold for another 1.5 hours, was told that no, it was 60 days from the date I wanted to reserve the cabana - NOT the resort check-in date. I insisted I had been told otherwise and she "went to check with her manager" but came back and said no, it wasn't 60+10 for cabanas so I'd need to call back on May 1st for a 6/30 cabana date.

I just woke up early on Saturday to call at 6am CST to try to avoid another long hold, and was on the line for over an hour - when the very nice cast member who answered said all cabanas at the Grand Floridian are full on June 30th. I asked how that could be since they just opened up this morning, and he said it IS a 60+10 window and I should have been allowed to reserve when I called a few days ago.

I cannot even being to describe how upset I am about this entire experience, when we're splurging to stay at a deluxe resort and I have now spent almost SIX HOURS on the phone trying to reserve a cabana following the Disney process and still....I have no cabana reservation to show for it.

My option to "keep calling back" and checking to see if one opens up at the Grand Floridian is, as I'm sure you can imagine, wholly unappealing given I know the wait times involved.

Is there anything that can be done to assist in this situation? Some sort of wait list notification for me if one opens up? Anything? I'm so frustrated and upset that I'm really debating our entire on-site stay expense since so many of the usual advantages don't exist right now."
