I have read a thread or 2 about people saying that at the Hard Rock Hotel people are reserving sunbeds around the pool, by leaving towels on them all day. Apparently there are signs forbidding this, but still it's being done.

This is one of my pets hates. For the amount of money I am spending there I don't want to have to put up with no sunbeds around the pool because each one has a towel on them.

What are you experiences there?, we are going 9 September so maybe it will be quieter.

We stayed at the Rosen last time and because everyone there was working, we had the pool to ourselves all day.

Maybe seems trivial to you, but I go on holiday to get away from stress for a couple of weeks....

Totally agree with you Kevin. We've never had any problem at the HRH, but then we've only ever used at the pool at the end of the day (around 5-6pm) and no problem.

I found this was the case at AKL when we stayed there . . . so I just hung around and checked the loungers where there was no sign of anyone except towels (ie no books, shoes etc to show someone might be in the pool) and after a while then plonked our stuff down. Never had anyone come up and say we were sitting there (maybe we were lucky ;) ).

I think tbh this can happen anywhere these days. I have seen it a pretty much every hotel I have stayed at - never know why the hotels dont stop it though.

Only place I have seen them remove towels was a hotel in cancun - and then only I think because it was crowded and people were looking for beds to sit on.

I have been know to leave it a while and then "accidently" remove the towels on days when I have become wound up by it :rotfl2: dont think I have ever seen anyone come back for them either.

To be honest I've never encountered this in Florida before, so was surprised when I read about it.

I think I'll be dumping towels in the pool if I encounter this sort of behaviour!!!!!

This was never a problem at the HRH when we were there last April (during Easter weekend!). The resort was packed but there was always plenty of space around the pool.

:)

Hi, I've just come back (31.03.05) and have experienced the hotel full of spring breakers. Yes people were reserving the sun loungers and we did in fact lie next to 3 sunbeds which were reserved from 8.00am until they eventually came to use them at about 3.00pm. The pool staff were going around the pool area and if the bed just had a towel on it, they were removing them, but if any personal items were on the bed they left the bed alone. Bear in mind though the hotel was full to capacity and they had moved all sun loungers off the beach (so people could lie on towels on the sand) and crowded them all around the opposite side, also people were coming and going all day long.
