I just have to say that I am putting this thread here because this is where I have seen this term used a lot. And I understand that for want of a better word, people approach the subject of being overweight lightly, as in saying "pooh sized".
I know I am going to get flamed, but I would just like to know why it is okay to associate such a cute, furry, bear to an epidemic spreading across our nation and harming our future at an alarming rate. I am talking about obesity being socially acceptable...so acceptable that people respond on these links saying "oh, its okay you are whatever size..I am too".
I cannot imagine having to worry about fitting on a ride at a year long planned trip that cost thousands of dollars of ones own hard work, only having to be concerned at what attractions I can fit on and if I will be able to "make the walk".
And YES, I was a "big kid"...at age 14 I was almost 170 pounds at 5'4". So, I know what its like to be heavy. But as an adult, a sahm with 3 kids under 7, whose husband works A LOT and travels A LOT, who is on my own A LOT, manages to stay healthy and fit...and I do so by the choices I make every single day. And its not always easy but fast food and pre made foods are not an option. Not exercising is not an option.
Not just for myself, but for my CHILDREN. And I'm not talking about people who are 6'5" and have problems fitting on rides, or people who are on medication, or have thyriod or metabolic disorders. I'm talking about people who perpetuate the idea that it is okay to be really, really unhealthy...and by doing so use the term "pooh sized" to describe their unhealthy lifestyle. I remember a post I read a week or so ago about how "happy" someone was that WDW has gotten rid of most of the turnstiles because they are tired of having to try and squeeze through.
I just wish that people in this country would realize that it isn't okay, and that we as a country are killing ourselves, slowly but surely by acting like it is okay to be very, very overweight. I know people in their thirties who have back problem, knee problems, foot problems because they carry around so much more weight than necessary...and do nothing about it but look for ways to feel better with the problem instead of illiminating the problem. Not to mention diabetes, heart disease, asthma, arthritis, high cholesterol, etc. And some of these are showing up in children!
I suppose that saying pooh sized could refer to children with a weight problem too...its just so sad. And it was on my mind, so flame away.

He's waiting to get in my Tonga Toast!
Disney and want more than anything to be as fit as you as they prepare to travel to the "World" AND as they return from the "World" and continue to try to maintain good health 24/7 in their lives.
My **** isn't exactly small but it fits just fine in the rides, an airplane seat and just about every other public venue. Am I pooh sized? I have no earthly idea. I haven't met any of the people who have characterized themselves as pooh sized but I surely don't judge them for such characterization. What gives you the right to do so? Who are you to dictate how someone refers to themselves when they post a question that actually relates to Disney (unlike this OT thread in which you want to discuss the nation's weight problem)?
