pooh sized person question

At WDW we have always been able to ride everything despite the pooh sized seats we require. Is DL the same way? Are there any rides someone of size would have a hard time fitting in? We never had problems at DW on space mountain or others. Any rides at DL that aren't size friendly?

Depending on the ride it may be more comfortable to split onto two rooms if there are 2 pooh size people in your party.

The only ride that my DH has had challenges with is Mullholland Madness (wild mouse style mini coaster in DCA) as it is a tight squeeze for many adults. He fits, but it is not comfortable and we choose not to ride it. Others have reported challenges with the Maliboomer at DCA.

Astro Orbiter, Space Mountain, Indy, BTMRR, California Screamin', Mulholland Madness

many of the ride vehicles are tight for persons my size, 6' and 190. So larger in any of those dimensions and you can have a bit more "fun" getting in and out and during the ride.
Height and weight can be an issue on many rides due to seat belts, overhead restraints, lap bars, knee room, side to side room..
People tend to get bigger generation after generation, so rides that were designed back in the 50's and 60's are getting a bit tight now.
Astro Orbiter is the same basic ride it was in the 50's ( Rockets) just in a different place.

I am very 'pooh sized' and only ever had a problem with Astro Orbitor and Mulholland Madness. Oh I also avoid that jumping jellyfish one.
Never any probs on space, indy, BTMRR or screamin'.

Because of the way DH's bulk is distributed, he has, so far, found Mulholland and Maliboomer impossible. :(

If he were all belly with skinny legs, Mulholland would have been possible, by just squishing his legs down. But he's got "sumo" legs that could not be squished. It really really sucked, and I'm not sure he'll ever try it again, even once his prolactinoma is gone (he was waiting on that diagnosis; a bonafide hormone problem, during that trip) and his extra fat that the hormone has caused is gone, due to how ugly some people in line got towards him. :sad2:

Maliboomer has solid shoulder harnesses like on Screamin'. Those are fine. But then they have to clip a strap from the bottom of the U of that harness down to the seat between the legs, and although the CMs have helped and been kind and respectful, they can't get it to clip. That ride will probably be gone by the time we get back to DLR, so....

But other than that, he's done all the rides he wants to do! He doesn't find it fun to get on Astroorbiter with our son, and he makes sure to sit in the 2nd or 3rd rows, not the front, on Pooh, but those are just comfort things.

Mulholland Madness! I did the single rider line for that one and was squishing some stranger's kid!

I am 76" and 218 and the only problems with anyride that I have attempted was Mulholland Madness and the Materhorn. Sure I have to squish, especially Materhorn and I do get banged around a bit, but workable. I just do not put these rides on the top of my list.

SpaceMountain and Mullholland Madness. I'm 180cm/6 foot, size 20. Space Mountain more becauseof my height. Very uncomfortable and very sore knees after. I did fit in Mullholland but I could only get the bar down 2-clicks and my tummy was very squished.

I am 5'10 295lbs. I have not found any problems with rides at DLR. I will admit that my legs were squished on Mulholland Madness, but it was not unbearable. I think it really depends on the person. I wish I could be of more help

My husband is 6'2 and 300 lbs and he has a hard time with Winnie the Pook and BTMM but only because of his height...his knees are sooooo sore at the end of the day, oh, also Mulholland Madness, we got about half way thru the line and he shook his head and said "no way" I went on it and did alright but I know with his long legs he would have had a hard time....as far as everything else goes, sometimes its a tight squeeze but we've always managed and no one has ever made us feel like we shouldnt be on the rides ...hope that helps :-)

Thanks for your replies everyone! It puts my mind at ease for most rides! I'll stay away from the few that everyone is having problems with!:thumbsup2

Feel free to PM me with specific questions.

I was able to ride all the adult rides with absolutely no problem. LOTS of room on the attractions with lap belts (Soarin', Indy)

GO and have fun!

Key hint here....pull the belt out all the way while you're still standing. Much easier than sitting, then pulling the belt out, for some reason.

And if you have a big upper body, make sure your arms don't get caught in a funky position on Screamin'. Hubby was so nervous about that harness (b/c of Maliboomer) he let one arm be in some weird position, and had to get the CM to unlock the harness so he could reset himself. He was afraid of going through the ride with his arm all weird. :)
