Pooh sized people on the carousel

:surfweb: I am so glad I'm not the only one to have trouble getting off the thing! I don't even use the stirrups any more, just kind of slide down on my belly. I'm not even that short or fat, just uncoordinated! It is sooooo worth the humiliation though - I love riding the carousel. It will make you feel ten years old. :goodvibes

I've wondered about getting on and off those horses myself (I've never ridden it before). The other question this thread brought up to me is, is there space between the horses? My DS is 2 and usually I stand beside him to make sure he doesn't fall. Would there be space for a pooh-sized person there?

Oh no, you're not alone...I'm not that big, about a size 14, but even in my thin days I had problems climbing up on that horse! I think once you're an adult, you lose most of your climbing ability...but you're right, worth looking silly.:thumbsup2

I was the original poster and I wanted to say that I rode it(a short dumpy size 22) and it was awesome!!! And my pooh sized hubby who is more pooh sized than me also rode it LOL!!! One of the highlights of my vacation was seeing him on a carousel horse, makes me tear up just thinking about it!!! I want to go back to Disney World right now!!!

Some of my best photos are of my kids and DH on the carousel! You can get the best grins out of a grown man going up and down on a carousel horse. Especially with his kids laughing beside him. I love Disney magic! :goodvibes

If you want to stay low, see if there are horses that does not go up and down.

If all of the horses in a row are occupied, the weight balances out. But if all the horses in a row are occupied by really heavy people, I cannot rule out having that portion of the mechanism and framework disintegrating. The carousel at Slater Park in Pawtucket RI is one of just a few where none of the horses go up and down.

The very first carousel ride I can remember, I specifically wanted a horse that did not go up and down as I was afraid of heights. I was too young to tell my father so but (I think) I kept pointing at the horse I wanted. My father finally moved me to the horse I wanted.

Did you shave your legs? Because that would have been the best sight...a fat chick on the carousel with hairy legs. :thumbsup2
