Pooh sized at Disney

Just to keep these things clear...

Everest's restraints (lap bars) do not squeeze your legs together.
It has a single bar that comes up only on one side. Very comfortable design.

Much different than 7DMT with the double-bar that forces guests legs tightly together.
Hideous design, even for most regular-sized folks.

It really depends on the size of the person on everest. It isn't as tight as 7DMT but it still is a U bar which means some people may find it uncomfortable. I distinctly remember that my fiance found it uncomfortable when his ankle was in a brace because his ankle was hitting the sides. Of course you can position yourself much much better on everest as it has more forward legroom and bigger seats then 7D.IMG_9701.JPG

I too find Everest's restraint to be a bit uncomfortably narrow.

Nothing beats fun at Disney.

My buddy is 6'3 and was over 300 last time I went with him. He could ride everything except 7DMT, which was a no-go (but barely, he probably could've squeezed but didn't want to make a fuss about it). He wasn't super comfortable on Space Mountain either, but it was very do-able. Anyone smaller than he is should have no problems.

Interesting, I'm 6'4" and at least pooh sized and I find everest just fine but 7dmt a pain. if I was taller, I wouldn't fit on 7dmt, there's just no room to move my feet once in and the bar just gets over my knees.

to OP: astro orbiter is a ride you might be right on the edge of being a little too tall and you many need to skip seats 1 and 4 on space mountain (2,3,5,6 has more leg room)

The seatbelt thing is actually good advice for everyone, regardless of size. They will tell you which way the seatbelt fastens as you board, but people a) do not listen & b) do not know their left from their right. If you remove one of the options before they sit down, things go more easily.

I have never even considered Everest a tight fit, but was miserable on 7D. I had actual bruises on the outside of my knees for days after.

I think Everest is less about size (while it can be) and sometimes more about mobility. Again my fiance never has issues with it during a normal park visit but the one time he didn't have full mobility he said the bar set up made it more uncomfortable.
7D does seem to be the one that affects the most amount of people now that Sum of All Thrills is gone.

If you're traveling with someone, you can have them help you buckle your seat belt (on those rides that have them). I pull the seatbelt way out, then bring it around me, and then my daughter clicks it in place. This is much faster than me fumbling to click it in place because i can't see it.

My husband is 6'4 and weighs about 400+. Should he be good on most rides?

7DMT, Teacups, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter and Space Mtn. would be the main concerns.

One thing to be aware of: with rides where you share the same lap bar with another person, like Thunder Mountain, the bar rests on the legs of the person who has the "highest/tallest" legs. The other person sharing the lap bar, if their legs aren't as "tall", might slide around a lot if the bar doesn't touch their legs. This might apply to lots of different groupings of people (adult/kid, etc.). Just be prepared to have one person have to hang on tighter sometimes!

I'm also 5'7" and a little bit more than 280, and I had a fantastic time at Disney last year--no problems with 7DMT or RnRC (didn't go to AK so can't comment on Everest). Just wanted to echo what everyone else is saying--you'll be just fine. Disney is way more size friendly than a lot of the other theme parks. Enjoy it! :)

I am 6'10'' 400 + I think I may need to rethink my fastpasses for 7dmt. IF i dont fit will disney comp me another fastpass for something else

Here's a visual for the problem with 7DMT

I have an issue with RnRC around the chest. I am larger in the chest and find the overhead restraints quite tight. I have no problem in the seat or leg room.

Hi,

I wear a size 22, I am shorter than you ,5'5". but pooh shaped. all in my dang belly! I can ride everything in Disney.

My daughter is the same, and we fit together on all rides- even the Indy Speedway and & 7 Dwarfs. If I gain weight Pooh is tight!Hits my belly.

I have had issues in Universal-not Disney.

Being a plus size women, I'm thrilled that Disney rides are made to fit all bodies sizes. I ride all the rides (except tea cups because ugh.....) and never have any real problems with fitting. Mine train is tight for me more so because of my height. It's a shame they designed those trains so narrowly.

If you are with another pooh sized person, or even possibly an average sized person, I highly recommend not sharing a section of two seats on Kali River Rapids. It is a VERY tight fit for two above average hipped people - if a fit at all. Sit with a child or a very small person if you must share. The seat belts are super long though.

As far as seat belts, I've also read to pull them the whole way out, lean back, buckle it, then sit down. I haven't tried it so not sure if it works but will for sure next time. Just pulling it out the whole way, sitting down, then buckling still made it a struggle to find the other end on occasion. For me it's not pulling the belt out while seated (never had an issue with that), it's fastening it to the other side.
