Do you have to make reservations for the pony rides or is it just a walk up type of activity? Thanks!

Horseback riding you should make a reservation. Pony rides you can just walk up.

Where are the pony rides at WDW?

The petting zoo area at FW right near the Hoop De Doo. They charge a small fee to put your kid on a pony and lead them around for a few minutes. Sorry i do'nt have much more detail than that.

There is also an age and weight limit for the pony rides. I'm not sure but think it might be 8 years old and like 85 lbs. We have walked over before HDDR and never found it crowded at all. This is a very low key ride and would appeal most to preschool children. I think they have to be 8 years old to do the horse back rides.
