Hi Everyone,
Can someone tell me how late the pony rides go at Ft. Wilderness? We plan on going over to Trail's End for dinner on Sun., 5/16 and I'd like to take my son on a pony ride and let him see the petting zoo. I don't know how much time to allow for this.

Also, how much are the rides? And what about the wagon rides...are they fun too? It looks like they leave at 7:00.

Any info. appreciated!

Thanks,
Linda

The pony rides are done by 5:00 pm. They are $3, closed toed shoe required. I think the max child's weight was 80#'s.

Enjoy!

Thanks Kim...I wouldn't have thought of the closed toe shoe...that's a good reminder.

We did this last weekend. Weight limit is 80 lbs. I don’t remember, but I think the sign said that it closes at dusk. Cost is $3.00. No tickets to buy, you pay there. My DS6 got to choose which pony he wanted to ride. I like it because it’s not like the pony rides at the circus. You don’t ride around in a circle ring. Parents must walk/lead the pony around the petting area. That's why you must wear closed toe shoes. You follow the arrows and it takes about 5 mins. Its worth the money just don’t be like me and forget the camera.

If you are not staying at FW (but at another WDW resort) where do you park for the pny rides/petting area?

Be sure and plan a meal at Trails end buffet while you are over there. The food is great and it's the best deal oon site.

You have many options...you could drive to Wilderness Lodge then catch the inter resort bus (this bus also goes to TTC so if you stay at one of the monorail resorts you can catch the bus there) and ride it to Tri-Circle-D Ranch (horse barn & petting farm) you will have a parking pass from your restore and will be able to park at WL...or you could rent bikes at WL's Teton Boat & Bike Rental and take the bike trail, or catch one of the small boats with the (Blue Flag) to Ft.Wilderness, or check if the larger boat is there first (Green Flag ) and if it's on the way to Ft.Wilderness it is a little faster.

You could also drive to Ft.Wilderness Campground park in the main parking lot then cath a bus the barn area.

If your at the MK you could also just ride the large boat with the green flag to Ft. Wilderness.

Hope this helps...
