Pony rides at Ft Wilderness

Hello, does anyone have any experience with the pony/horse rides at Ft Wilderness? My oldest is horse crazy & we're going to FtW for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I was just wondering can anyone ride? What the cost is? And if it's just a walk around in a circle or do they offer trail rides? Thank you in advance!

I would ask over in the camping boards. They know all the details. I know for pony rides its based on height and the horse rides are based on age. And unfortunately a lot of kids fall into the gap of too tall and too young. Would hate for you guys to get there and she find out she cant ride. Best of luck and hope she has fun.

Hi! My son, 7, rides the ponies at FW every time we go. It is $5.00 to ride. It is in a circle for the ponies. You can also walk over to the Tri Circle D Horse barn and look at all the horses, it is great! At the front of FW you can take a horse ride, it is on trails, we have not done this yet, so I'm not sure how much it is.

Thanks everyone! She is going to camp this summer to learn how to ride so I know she would prefer the trail ride over walking in a circle on the pony ride. But my younger kids would love that! So maybe we can do both. I will post on the campsite boards to see if anyone has more info or maybe I can even call Ft Wilderness? Bc I also wonder if they accept reservations or if it's just walk up..

It's just walk up. They're open from 10am-5pm, and it's only $5. It's never busy. It's not quite walking around in a 360 degree circle. More like a circular path that you take that weaves around the Tri-Circle D ranch. It's very low key. Children have to be 3yrs or older and with closed toe shoes. My 3 year old loved it.
