WE HAVE BEEN COMING WDW TO WALT DISNEYWORLD FOR THE LAST 11 YEARS AND WE SEEM TO DO ROUGHLY THE SAME THING MOST TIMES (ALTHOUGH WE DO EXPAND THEPARKS A BIT)

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WE HAVE HEARD THAT PONDEROSA IS A "ALL YOU CAN EAT RESTAURANT" WITH REALLY CHEAP PRICES

HAS ANYONE EATEN THERE - HOW GOOD IS IT - AND WHICH IS THE BEST RESTAURANT TO EAT AT (AS THERE ARE LOTS OF OUTLETS I BELIEVE!)

WE ARE STAYING AT WDW ASMo AND WONDERED WHETHER THERE WAS GOOD ONE ANYWHERE NEAR HERE

ALSO ARE THERE ANY MORE REALISTICALLY PRICED RESTAURANTS THAT ARE NOT ON WDW PROPERTY THAT ARE WORTH VISITING??

We have Ponderosa's here in Pennsylvania. It's a pretty good restaurant, similar to a Golden Corral if you've heard of that. You can order a steak and it comes with the all you can eat buffet. Or, you can just order the buffet by itself. The price difference is usually minimal though, so we usually get the steak and potato too. The bar is fairly extensive. Has things like: chicken fingers, mini chicken wings, pizza, spaghetti, various hot veggies, rolls, desserts, soft serve ice cream, salad items, fruit items, taco bar, etc. Some Ponderosa's also have a breakfast bar as well. We get Ponderosa coupons in our local newspaper, so I am going to take some along to see if they will honor them. By the way, in the Ponderosa's where I live, you can usually get a small sirloin steak with the dinner buffet for around $8 or $9. I'm sure Orlando will be at least $1 or $2 more expensive, it not a little more. Lunch prices are cheaper.

WE ate at 2 different Ponderosia's and each was different!! one was like what Sherry7 discribed, and that kind is a fanchise! and the other one is a Company Store, At this one they just have the All You Can Eat!! and these are the cheaper ones.

You can tell them apart by the names the first one's name is Ponderosia Steakhouse. And the buffet only one is just Ponderosia.

For a really good meal that is very very good, and inexpensive,Buy the four foot sub sandwiches at the Super Walmart in Kissimee,[these were one of our best finds] we took them back to the room and had a feast!!!

Sherry7-there are tons of coupon books in florida, your hotel room will have one,and they all have money off coupons for the Ponderosia and the Golden Corral and many other offsite restaurants.

We got lost on our last trip and found a ponderosa steakhouse in orlando...

It was close to Universal. And inside the restaurant was a coupon book where we got I think a $1 or $2 off each dinner. All we did was the salad bar, and it was less than $20 for the four of us...

My family LOVES Ponderosa. We have one practically around the corner from us and we eat there alot! They throw out a lot of coupons, too, which is great. Its our best bet for lots of food and good prices, with our family of 6.

We had one dinner at the Ponderosa Steakhouse on Rt. 192 just off World Drive which was good, the restaurant was clean and reasonably priced. With the 10% off coupon you can find in almost every publication, four adult meals with buffet was $44 (not including tip). I was pleased enough to want to try their breakfast buffet but we wound up eating snacks and juice in our hotel room to save time.

We ate at the Ponderosa on I-drive just sound of Sand Lake Road on our last visit to WDW. We went there because we wanted an easy meal and we had a coupon. Big mistake. The steaks, if you can call them that, were so full of tenderizer and of such poor quality we couldn't eat them and the buffet was average and not very good. Even at 1/2 of what we paid it would still not be worth it. There are a couple of excellent steak restaurants in the area as well as some other restaurants that are similarly priced and serve real meat. Of course this is just my opinion, but we will never go back, at least not to that location.

I hate to be the disagreeable one, but I can't think of any other place that I would NOT want to eat at. Especially on vacation at WDW!!!

I contracted a really nice roto virus from some customer, or worse yet, possibly from some unclean Ponderosa employee. I had 2 bouts of vomiting followed by 4 days of diarrhea...

I lived on Pepto Bismal chewables for one whole day just to kill the little critters multiplying in my intestines...

I worry all the time about buffets as the food handling and cleanliness becomes quite the issue. And on vacation I am less likely to take dietary risks than at other times...
