Ponchos

I don't like the WDW ponchos because being tall its sort of pointless as they don't cover an awful lot of us! Also the poppers on the sides or lack of them, let in lots of water. We bought a couple of very long ones a few years back in a sports shop sale and they are excellent. Mind you we don't wear them much as we tend to go in November and its rare we have rain. But I always wear them on the Popeye rapid ride at Universal as that has to be the worst ride for getting wet on and I don't want to walk about soaking wet with all my clothes sticking to every curve (many in the wrong place) on my body!!:rotfl:. I never really get wet on Kali River Rapid ride either by the way.:goodvibes

Thanks all - nearer the time I'll get some. I think I'd like to get them before I go, but still can't decide on 99p ones or more substantial ones. Even if just for the water rides ;).

Great tip about carrier bag for wet ones - I honestly hadn't thought about that for some reason - simple really! :lmao:

ETA - Tiggies - that is a good point about bags, camera bags etc. Have been caught in a downpour at DLP and in this country on days out and our rucksack got soaked - I did move it to the front of me, under my pack a mac raincoat but by the time I'd done that the damage was done!!

DLP, if your day sack doesn't already have one you can buy cheap waterproof rucksack covers that are elasticated for a sdnug fit. My last two had these, but you can buy them cheaply at Go Outdoors.
My wife has used a trekmates poncho on the last couple of years. Lightweight, folds down small enough to easily fit a bum bag. When it is wet it gets attached to the front of the bag by the straps that are already there for that purpose. Ten mins and it is dry. We usually use waterproof trainers for the park but a carrier bag saves you squelching around for the next hour or so.

Get some ziplock bags! I'm taking a few small ones (to put phone in) and larger ones (for ponchos) then I can just put them in my backpack and not have to worry about them leaking (or my phone getting wet on water rides).
